I'm so sorry There is a mom on CEP whose daughter had the surgery. I can't remember her name but I know she had a pug (helpful, huh? lol) Oh wait maybe it is Daria Morgandorffer?

I'm sorry! That's going to be very hard, more so on you than LO. It's great that it was detected early enough that LO won't remember it and will hopefully make a very quick (relatively speaking) recovery. Hugs.
I'm so sorry but wanted to ditto pps that kids are resilient and it's good that you guys are getting an early start on this while she is an infant. My dd wore casts from thigh to toes on both legs for 4 weeks. We put baby legs on her casts so they could stay relatively clean during diaper changes. Also, poop washes off a cast! Wishing you guys the best in her speedy recovery.

Thanks! I just did a big order of baby legs (Halloween themed, Christmas themed etc).
Not quite the same thing but my son was in full leg casts twice for his clubfeet. He was casted as newborn and then again for two months starting at six months. We were worried it would be so much harder once he was older but it didn't phase him at all. I'm sure it won't be the most fun thing but she will adjust just fine! Good luck!

@icedgems, I am so sorry If you need anything let me know…tell me when the surgery is and I will bring over some frozen meals so you don't have to worry about cooking.
changedname I missed your OP initially, but to give you some personal experience I had hip dysplasia on both sides as an infant and at the time the ped ortho opted against a harness too but recommended my parents double diaper and that they'd xray at a year. I don't know how long they did that for but my 1 year xray was clear and I was officially released from the specialist at age 2 after another clear xray. I've made it to 29 without any issues
ETA: yay for your update, I hope everything goes smoothly and you can avoid surgery!

Thanks for the insight. I asked about double diapering or using cloth as they are so much bulkier and she said it wasn't necessary but I will probably do it just in case.
changedname I have no idea if it actually did anything, or if it's an antiquated recommendation, just figured I'd mention it in case they discusses it with you!

Awesome update! And yes, it seems like many of the staff at Sick Kids are anti-jolly jumper/exersaucer. So glad it may fix itself on its own. Hugs to you and your baby girl!
Great update! The hospital that I delivered at wouldn't let us swaddle in the hospital for this reason. They were in the process of making this transition and teaching moms not to swaddle at all.
