We'll be in Lisbon in October for about 5 days. We're going to rent a car and get out of the city for a day trip. We've been to Cascais and Sintra before and wouldn't be opposed to going back, but ideally I'd like to explore somewhere new.
I'm thinking Porto is just a little too far since it's a 3-4 hour trip each way (we only have the car for 12 hours).
Any other easy drives from Lisbon that you can suggest?
Before I opened your post, I was going to say Cascais and Sintra. Oops! I really, really like both places, though.
I can't remember if Setubal is that close. I went years ago and was getting around by train. It was a nice little place, but I like Cascais and Sintra a little better.

We've been to Coimbra and it's a cute town. But I'm not sure I'd drive there. It was a very easy trip by train and while I didn't notice it, it seems like a town where parking would be difficult.
