I'm pretty happy about football right now. Kicked assed totally in one fantasy league, and barring a total miraculous comeback tomorrow (knock on wood), gonna win in another. My college team is #4 and killed their opponent.
I took the Bears in my elimination pool, so that sucked. I watched the Texans defeat my favorite Redskins, so that sucked. At least Dallas is sucking it up, small favors.
It was a good weekend in our house on the college front (Auburn and Boise State) but my H was pretty pissed about this one.
He turns 30 this year and the skins play at fedex field ON his birthday. Going to a home game is on his bucket list, so I bought him tickets for his bday gift. They're playing the Seahawks though so I hope he doesn't turn into an angry ogre the whole game if they lose.
I was/am very seriously considering buying DH tickets to that game. We live in Seattle but he's from MD and is a rabid Redskins fan. When they played Seattle in the post-season back in '06 I had a choice of buying tickets to the Redskins game the week before his birthday or tickets for the game ON his birthday. I waffled for about 30 seconds before I decided he'd rather skip the birthday and see his Redskins. Of course, Seattle (my team) won! I wish they were doing Monday night here. So much cheaper and easier.
ciescalove - yeah, it's a much easier trip for you. It only took us about eight hours (with kid/pit stops) to get from Cleveland to DC iirc. It takes me that long to get there on a plane now, and it's a lot more money plus dealing with TSA now too. So not worth it.
