How would you go about training

Your dog to only poop in a certain area of your yard? Has anyone here done this?

We're in the process of building a new house which will have a big yard. Right now, he goes out back and goes wherever he wants. So we have to go out and clean the whole yard anytime we want to play or spend time out there.

When we move into the new house, I'd like to set aside an area to be his bathroom, basically. I will still clean it out regularly, of course. But I would like the kid and the dog to have the run of most of the backyard without running into poop.

You'll have to take him out on a leash to potty every single time until he figures out he is supposed to go in his area. After he poops or pees, get excited, praise and give a small treat. over and over and over again.
