Calling fellow food obsessed friends. I have two friends coming into town next weekend for our half marathon in Revere. We have to pick up our packets at City Sports Chestnut Hill store (55 Boylston Street Chestnut Hill and are looking for a delicious, not too pricy, not too fancy Italian restaurant to carb load. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Well if you want a classic old school red sauce place, what about something like the Chateau? They have a few locations. I can't say its particularly inspired....but if you want a vat of pasta in red sauce for cheap, it has that!
A hidden gem is Gran Gusto on Sherman Street in Cambridge. Fresh made pasta, luscious desserts and fantastically fresh seafood. Unlike most Cambridge restaurant they have parking too.

A friend raved about their truffle mushroom pizza. I was so, so sad that they were out of it when we went.
