i've been casually readying GOMI after this blew up and i'm kind of wondering about the theories that J&S are separated or at least struggling. i don't pay enough attention to the details to have seen it myself, but when someone else spells it out... yeah. they missed a few key posts that always go up around their summer anniversary and the blog has lacked their super lovey dovey-ness. i really hope not, for their sake, but now it wouldn't surprise me
the $33k is more recent. they're still building the blog up. if you pop in different posts, he talks about any changes they've made that might account for higher revenue and there was one (i can't remember which) that talked about the ebb and flow of marketing. Q4 is obviously a huge cash cow because marketers are striking hard with Christmas shopping, while Q1 is slower as people are reigning it in after holiday spending.
This is why I shouldn't read stuff so late at night. I read as if the blog was in decline. Doh!

I would have to kill my H if we spent that much time together, so that theory makes a lot of sense. I hope they can do what's right for their marriage even if it means they both need to go get jobs and leave the blog behind.
That's super interesting. I see the high if $33k a month and then down to $200.
I didn't see a "what is happening" summary though. Did they stop posting as much? Lose popularity?
Honestly, I think this is all too stressful as a job. I can see how someone would go nuts looking at their stats and freaking when they start falling.
Where do you see that? It says that June was $31,073.42 and July was $26,385.75. It is down, but not $200. I read somewhere that summer was typically lower viewership/less profit time for bloggers, so that would make sense.

I was reading them backwards. I saw it as a sharp decline.

I can't keep up with the GOMI threads, which page does all this "break" discussion start on?

i'd have to dig through and find it again for the main thread. when i started reading it was 10-12 pages previously, but they add pages so fast i have no idea now.
if you look towards the end of the "conspiracies" thread (maybe page 71?) you'll see speculations about their relationship.

They have some weird quirks, that's for sure. I just always go back to the whole her not-wanting-to-drive-thing.
And him only drinking water for a month
Sent from my SCH-R970 using proboards
I think she has some anxiety issues, and the not driving fits with that.
What is the deal with him only drinking water for a month?
And why is that weird? I think I drank only water for years. Now I have added less healthy things, like chai lattes, margaritas and gin and tonics....I was probably better off before.
i know she didn't drive for a long time, but didn't she recently (within the last, oh, 18 months?) start driving again? i'm sure she posted about that at some point, maybe when they got their new car?

She said that she started driving a little, (and I think that she still doesn't enjoy driving) then never mentioned going anywhere alone except maybe to Michaels or JoAnn once. She doesn't really have to drive with John around.
They only have one car, so if John ever gets a job outside the house how would that work? He's the one who takes Clara to school, dance class, etc.. They would definately need a second car.
this is not weird. this is healthy. it has nothing to do with sherry's other quirks.
But only water strictly? I drink mostly water, but have one cup of coffee per day. And beer & wine. (But don't they drink, right?)
I always get weirded out by people who have to be so extreme about anything.
He doesn't drink, but she will drink wine.
When I pretty much just drank water it was because I didn't really want anything else. I wanted to drink more water, and once I started making an effort I realized that I preferred it. Now I have a morning chai latte, but more often than not I turn down other beverages and just have water all day.
I don't really care what anyone else drinks, (unless they are guests and I need to stock it) and don't really pay enough attention to that to have an opinion. I guess I would care if all someone drank was alcohol, but that is an entirely different issue.

the 100% water thing was a personal challenge John did for a month. he realized he was drinking to much pop/other sugary stuff and wanted to kind of detox. after the month was up he realized he wasn't missing out on other drinks so why bother especially when the cost can add up. but it wasn't an extreme, "I'll never drink anything other than water, ever." more of an "eh, why spend money on drinks that i don't love that don't make me feel good?"
*the more we discuss YHL, the more i realize i have a great memory for the stupidest stuff. i wish i could keep track of my own life like i keep track of other people.
