I'd do it again! Bonus points if you can get it together to start at the end of this week so I only have to do the weigh-in once for the end of the current game and the start of the next
Thanks for setting this up, suzubell. I'm pretty sure you will all get to keep my money every time, but so long as it still provides enough motivation for me to keep going, I am in. And I've saved way more than $25 in the past 4 weeks on food I didn't eat, haha.
I'm going to join as well. This past one helped me so much. I slacked in the beginning but then was really strict about my diet and working out and made it right on my goal weight. Hopefully this one will be a bit easier since I feel like I'm in a routine. It would be nice if they also had an option if you just want to maintain. Losing the $25 dollars really helped me stay away from the key lime pie someone sent our office this week.
I will join this one too. I am going to wait and see if we get our credit from the one that is ending now so I can use it for this one. I should squeeze just under the wire on this current one. Fingers crossed!
Thank you! I've only tried one DietBet before, and it was the 6 month version. I totally lost motivation by about month 3, so I'm hoping this one will be better!
Would people be interested in frequent board check ins? The diet bet site goes quickly out of sight, out of mind for me.
I would say I should skip this one because H will be gone for a week and working long hours for another week which is my chance to not eat well, but maybe this would keep me a little more accountable.
I was going to join, but 4% seems like such a high goal! Do you guys find success doing that? For me that's almost 10 lbs (OMG that much? I need this...) MFP says if I eat 1200 calories a day I'll lose 2 lbs a week, but that's not even 4%. I really don't think I can eat less than that without being totally deprived.

I've done two and yet to succeed. It's no fault of the programs design, I just suck with motivation. $25 has yet to be enough.

I just completed my first one and I usually suck at these things. I lost 6.5% this round, but the next one will probably be harder because I'll have to take it up a notch. You can totally do it!

4% is a high goal, but the way I think of it is that I'm paying $25 for motivation to lose SOMEthing. I needed a reason to get my ass in gear, and this has done it for me. I have to weigh in tonight for the final of the last dietbet, but I don't think I'm going to make it to my 9# goal, but I have lost at least 7 pounds in 4 weeks. And I did it without counting calories.
I exercised more (even if just a long walk at lunch), I stopped unnecessary eating (which I was doing more of than I care to admit), and I chose healthier alternative when possible - but there is no way in hell I was getting down to 1200 calories. I went in with the goal to not deprive myself, even if it meant losing my money, because I want to keep this up long-term. To me, losing 7 pounds and getting on the right track again was worth the $25. And it will be worth in 4 weeks when I lose another $25.

I'm in again! I think I would have won this last one (came into the last week only needing to lose 1/2 lb) but then life got flipped upside down and for me, craziness & stress = bad eating. But I'm encouraged knowing that normally, this is something I can achieve. It was definitely good motivation and even if I didn't win I did lose weight.
Omg, omg OMG! I actually did it! I lost 3 pounds in the past week! I lost 9 pounds in 4 weeks. I squeaked by at 0.1 pounds under my goal weight and I WON! Thank you all for doing this. I have no idea why this works so much better for me, but it does!
So thanks to everyone that played the last game. And thanks to @marshmallows and leonard131 for the encouragement to keep going yesterday. I was able to stay on track and exercise yesterday and today, despite my soreness, and it paid off.

You can do it. It's not impossible, it just takes willpower. I lost 9.2 lbs this time. My goal was to lose 8.4. It wasn't terribly difficult...I went out to eat at least twice a week and had an occasional soda (my biggest weakness) and even had a few drinks during our fantasy football drafts, not to mention party-type food. I just focused on eating a lot more vegetables and fruit during the day.
