Praying wanderingenough! I'm so so sorry you are having to go through this. I'm glad you are seeing your OB and hoping for the best. Please keep us updated. Sending you lots of ((hugs)) and positive thoughts.
Oh honey, so many good thoughts and prayers. I know it's so so hard but try to relax and stay positive. Drink lots of water and rest as much as your able to
FWIW, I spotted throughout my whole first tri. Never found a reason for it, but DD is 4.5 months now and I had an otherwise totally uneventful pregnancy

Ladies who have been pregnant, help me understand the blood test. I mean I get that they are looking for pregnancy hormone, but they still found pregnancy hormone for like two weeks after my D&C last year. So how does that indicate if the pregnancy is progressing? My head is hurting and spinning way too much to go off googling for answers.
With the blood test, they would have to schedule a follow up test to see if the HCG level rose and pregnancy was progressing (they are looking for doubling levels). They may be able to tell something based on your level today (like if it's appropriate for how far along you are) but I don't think it's that exact of a science when you're only looking at one number.
Yeah, unfortunately, as ewall said, a single blood test won't tell you much. HCG has such a wide range of acceptable values. The real test is to make sure it rises, and at an appropriate rate. So if you have a blood test today, you'd ideally have another one in 48ish hours to assess doubling time

Like ewall said. How far along are you again? After HCG rises around a certain level the doubling time slows down. Found this on BabyMed:
In most normal pregnancies at hCG levels below 1,200 mIU/ml the hCG usually doubles every 48-72 hours. At levels below 6,000 mIU/ml the hCG levels normally increase by at least 60% every 2-3 days, though increases between 50-60% can sometimes still be seen in normal pregnancies.
In general, after 6-7 weeks of the pregnancy the best indication of a healthy pregnancy is a good fetal heartbeat. Blood hCG levels are not very helpful to test for the viability of the pregnancy if the hCG level is well over 6,000 and/or after 6-7 weeks of the pregnancy. Instead, to test the health of the pregnancy at that time, a sonogram should be done to confirm the presence of a fetal heart beat
HCG Level DOUBLING TIME EXPECTED
Under 1,200 mIU/ml Between 30 and 72 Hours 1200-6000 mIU/ml Between 72 and 96 Hours Over 6,000 mIU/ml Over 96 Hours
Hang in there! Thinking of you and hoping for the best! Lots of ((hugs)) I hate that you are going through this

luv2rn4fun - I'm just over 6 weeks right now. I wouldn't be so panicked if the MMC last year wasn't dated about 5.5. weeks.
They just had me to do the blood draw with the phlebotomist. She didn't know next steps. I called the nurse line back when I left for more details. She said they'll have the results tonight and a nurse will call me in the morning. I'll either need to go back tomorrow or Monday depending on what the OB says. I pushed for them to give me an ultrasound sooner than 9 weeks (currently scheduled), but she said the OB would need to order that.
((Hugs)) I hope that they get you at least in for another blood draw on Saturday. That will probably be the quickest way to give you any answers. (Unless they get you in for an u/s quicker.

Thinking of you wanderingenough! Praying for good blood results and hopefully an earlier u/s. I cannot imagine why they wouldn't get you in earlier considering your history and the bleeding. So many ((hugs))

Thanks all.
spankswife - Last time I went to the bathroom (about an hour ago), there was still blood. Nothing heavy though, which is good.
Eta- And no, it couldn't be from sex. It's been about a week.
awick14 and luv2rn4fun - I'm hopeful that once the OB sees the note in my file and blood test, maybe she will just go ahead and let me get one. It sounded like she wasn't there at the moment.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I spotted and bled red and brown from 5-10 weeks and was convinced I was m/c several times. I went to the ER at 6 weeks and was able to see my itty bitty baby and HB. I had a subchorionic hematoma to explain the bleeding. If you feel like it would help to go to the ER, they should be able to see something at 6 weeks.
