So sad on MT 2.0. Yes, so winged liner is the challenge this week. Post the product you use and a link to any tutorial you used.
Next week will be Samples week since Ipsy/Birchbox should be arriving, plus I know some of the premium brands are giving sample gift sets with purchase for Ulta's beauty buys.

Can someone walk me through blush? I haven't used it in 10+ years because I think it makes me look clownish. Recommendations (I have medium-light skin with warm tones) and links to application techniques appreciated.

Also, who uses the Tarte amazonian clay foundation? I don't... love it. It doesn't blend or cover well with finger application. It's better with sponge application, but I still feel like the coverage is very light, or I need to use a TON of it, which is disappointing with a $30 foundation. Am I doing it wrong?
I received my tarte order this weekend and used it today. I LOVE the cheek tint (maracuja cheek tint in deep berry), also got the beauty and the box shadow quad in envoke the smoke, and eyeliner in ash violet. The eyeliner isn't as purple as I wanted, but it's nice and creamy. (Note to self, bottom eyeliner isn't a great look for me)

I like Real Techniques blush brush. It deposits just the right amount and blends beautifully.
Favorite blushes are NYX Pinched and pretty much anything Tarte (Dollface, Exposed, and Natural Beauty). I really like theBalm's blushes and you can get them today only on HauteLook for half off. I have Hot Mama and Cabana Boy and adore both.
I suck at foundation. I liked a Sally's mineral makeup but they stopped making my shade. Is mineral makeup still legit or is it lame now?
I wear it every day. Usually always on top of something else. Heavier if I'm wearing just a light tinted moisturizer (eg Say Yes to Grapefruit CC cream) lighter if I'm wearing a foundation (eg Tarte 12 Hour BB Cream). I love Bare Minerals! Been wearring it for... Almost a decade now?
FOTD x3 Saturday I did a coral+grey look using my Mally Citylook palette and Freelove in UD Shadowbox. Mally Gun Metal eyeliner. I think I used Tarte Natural Beauty on my cheeks and the same color in a lip stain for my lips, followed with some Almay peach lipgloss.
Yesterday was a lazy day and I took the kids to the rec center to swim. I attempted a winged liner with Nyx gel liner and I think I could go more dramatic with the wing, but that stuff smudged all over before I even got to the pool. I think I need to find a new gel liner that stays put. Let me know if you have a rec!
I used Neutrogena Crease Proof Stick Shadow in Perfect Pink and the gel liner. I used Tarte creamy white eyeliner to line the water line (which I don't like that look on me, or at least that color). I didn't line my bottom lid, but it always looks that way after I put on mascara. Posietint on my lips and cheeks, with Revlon Matte Balm in Unapologetic, and I forgot what gloss I used.
Today I wanted to go with bronze/gold and after seeing my days with grey shadow, I'm thinking I need to do a day where I mix the two because bronze/gold isn't quite perfect for my coloring despite me liking those colors for makeup. I used UD Baked Cowboy, Smog, and Lost all from the Shadowbox. I used Tarte Bronze eyeliner and the sample of Tarte Amazonian mascara, which I really like. It's a thinner version of Lights Camera Lashes mascara. Cheeks are Nyx Desert Rose (LOVE this color). Lips are Cabernet from Hikari Cosmetics (from Ipsy) with YSL Rose Orfevre gloss.
ETA: I also used Tarte Amazonian finishing powder because I had a sample and WOWSERS. I really like how it finishes my face and smooths my pores - more than the Nyx illuminating powder. We'll see if it controls shine today.

This is so sad! Blush is the best.
I second the RT blush brush for powder based blushes. For cream blushes use the small elf stippling brush.
The best blushes? Tarte, Bare Minerals Ready blushes, and surprisingly, ELF's are good too. The Josie Maren Cheek Gelee is also AMAZING.

Tarte Amazonian blushes are beautiful. Pigmented in the right amount and they seem to work on many people in these threads.
I think this gives you some options for blush application. I can do several different applications because of my face shape and pronounced cheek bones.

Wayne Goss has some good tutorials for where to put blush on your face:
This is the method I use, but I'm still very awkward at it.
Thank you! And this is which a liqued liner? Can you do this with other types of liners too?
Eta: and what do you do about your bottom lash?
I do this method with every kind of liner. Pencils are the hardest to do because they are typically smudgey. I am best at using a pen/marker. I have tried it with true liquid and I'm the worst with that because of the brush. Gel liner is also relatively easy because I can use an angled brush (like I use for to apply powder on my eyebrows) to draw the wing perfectly and then it's easy to color in the wing.
Don't mind me, I am just sitting here liking everything and nodding along. I'll post my weekend FOTDs when I get back from class. Also my MUG order should be in today, and I'm super excited for more blush.
I'm also unsure about vice 3 after seeing the reviews. I think I can get what I want with a combination of MUG and Mac shadows, so I don't know what I want to do.
Oh and I don't do anything on my bottom lash usually. Every once in awhile I will tightline or use shadow. Winged eyeliner is very retro to me, and also dramatic, so I think doing anything on the bottom looks strange.
@smorriso, your black lips looks fabulous! I've never seen it look so good outside of editorial looks.
Liquid liner and I are still not speaking to each other so winged liner will have to wait a few days. I rediscovered MAC Quarry in my palette of depotted singles and I think it's a great transition into fall plum. I'm rocking my new Milani Power Lip in Cabaret Blend and it really was worth ordering. secretlyevil, I think you'd really like it too.
OMG!!! @racergrrl, think this could be a dup for WnW's global fierceness? It looks more red than too faced melted berry...
Anyone afraid of the Makeup threads because they are too long (and this one will get long too), just just start at the end; don't try to start at the beginning. The makeup thread is not like Mad Men where you have to start at the beginning to understand. They are more like Big Bang Theory where you can watch anywhere in the seasons and follow the storyline.

Plus, no one cares if things get repeated. It's OK to discuss product X or issue Y a thousand times. You aren't bothering anyone with your questions just because they may have been discussed on pages 3, 21, and 78 of the first thread, because the info is new to someone other than just you. HONEST.
ETA: in fact, I opened this thread, only read the last post, and jumped in to respond. See how that works? :-)

I was kind of thinking that too! I have NO milani in my area so if you find one, let me know what you think!

About me: mid-30s. Large pores. Combo skin in the winter, oily skin in the summer. Issues: acne scarring, dark undereye circles, redness. I'm combining skincare and makeup favorites. I am ghostly pale with cool undertones, blue eyes, auburn (brownish red) hair.
Favorites:
Face Wash: Yes to Grapefruits scrub in the A.M.; Philosphy Purity Made Simple at night Moisturizer: Neutrogena Oil-Free with SPF in the A.M.; Yes to Blueberries at night Primer: Benefit POREfessional; also Smashbox Photo Finish (I have the original, plan to order the Color Correcting one) Foundation: Don't really use liquid foundation Powder: Makeup Forever Super Matte Loose Powder in Translucent Natural Concealer: Laura Mercier -- it's Undercover Pot from the Flawless Face kit, in Shade #2 (which is also sold on its own) Blush: don't have anything I love. I use Nars Orgasm; Maybelline bouncy blush in Fresh Pink, and Bare Minerals Ready Blush in The Faux Pas Bronzer: Benefit Hoola; Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Highlighter: I have Benefit Watts Up, but don't know how to use it.
Eyes Primer: Urban Decay primer potion, the age-defying formula Shadow: I have Stila's In the Know and In The Light; and I'm waiting on In The Moment to arrive. I love, love, love Stila palettes, and that they come with "lookbooks". I also have a Bare Minerals quad, The Afterparty. And a few Maybelline Color Tattoo pots (cream eyeshadow). Eyeliner: Right now, I either use eye shadow with an angled brush, or I use Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes pencil (not the liquid liner) in Metallic Bronze Mascara: Bare Minerals Lash Domination is my favorite; also like Benefit They're Real, and Too Faced Better Than Sex Brows: Don't use any products to shape my brows, they stay in place on their own. Just use Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil in Camel to fill them in.
Lips Lipstick: Bite (Lychee, Musk, Palomino, Violet, Zivoli), Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick (Bellissima), Maybelline Color Sensational (Coral Crush, Pink 'n Proper, Magnificent Mauve, Very Cherry) Lip gloss: Nyx Butter Gloss (Peach Cobbler, Tiramisu, Vanilla Cream Pie) Lip liner: Not something I use often. I have one Urban Decay Glide-On Lip Pencil in Native (pink)
Makeup brushes: I have 2 Sonia Kashuk sets -- one with face brushes and one with eye brushes. They're good for beginners.
Makeup remover: Philosophy Purity Made Simple takes off most of my makeup, then I use Sephora's store-brand waterproof makeup remover on a cotton round to take off the rest.

Nars orgasm looks good on most fair and medium skin tones.
