OH and every mascara I've used lately ends up on my undereye area by afternoon. Help!
The only one I've tried that doesn't is the clinique lash power tube one. (Maybe all tubes are this way too?) It doesn't make spectacular lashes and it takes practice to get it off but no raccoon eyes. I think I've tried every mascara since the MT started. I've also tried the powder trick and that kinda works but not consistently.
You are so pretty btw. What beautiful eyes you have!!
Thank you! I'll try powder first and see if it helps. I did get a sample of mascara at the lancome counter when I got the lipstick and it seems to be holding up better than the cheaper ones. Maybe with the powder that will do it.
NYX is on zulily today. Haven't looked at it yet but it was listed in my daily email.
just checked it out. there are five sets of stuff.
1. full "look" set - the love in paris shadow palette, lashes, blush and a black label lipstick - 13 2. five black label lipsticks - 10 3. five single shadows - 10 4. five color balms - 8 5. four sets of lashes - 9
I'm considering the lipstick set. I have one black label lipstick and I really like it. They're very creamy, pretty pigmented, have decent staying power for a creamy lipstick and smell faintly of grape candy.
Except that zulily's shipping takes like 4 years and is expensive.
I'm doing no-makeup makeup today because I'm headed to get a dental implant and hope to pass out afterward. But I wore fever again today; I'm seriously kind of obsessed with it. The picture doesn't do it justice. It's dramatic but manages to avoid clown territory.

I have the same problem with most mascara's making me look like a raccoon by end of day. The only ones I have found that don't are Urban Decay's Perversion, Tarte's Lights Camera Lashes and Revlon Grow Luscious Bold Laquer.
I don't know why I didn't think of it before, but I realized if I use some of my old Nyx round lipsticks as lip liner (apply all over, and blot all of the excess off) that it seriously makes my normal lipstick last so much longer. This is great for me since I only have the free lip pencil Nyx sent me with the Taupe blush, but I have a bunch of old lipsticks from them that I never wear because they transfer like whoa. And they were super cheap too, about $2 a tube.
@missusbee - I don't think I've ever seen a picture of you before. You are lovely! Lip color suggestion - Bite Pepper. It's got a bit more color than a true nude, but the color is subtle and versatile.

Also @missusbee needs some "my lips but better" suggestions - so she should come in here and get ideas. I think you've got similar coloring? IIRC? Sorry missus, our dinner date was a long time ago. I know I've got MAC syrup on my list after you wore it forreals. (at least I'm pretty sure that was you). What else do you like that fits the category of "subtle everyday."
My favorite is the MUFE birthday lipstick from Sephora. I think the color is N9.
A lot of the revlon lip butters make excellent mlbb colors for a very reasonable price.
That is also my favorite MLOB lipstick. My second favorite is NYX Matte Lipstick in Natural.
secretlyevil I don't know why I don't love it, but there is something not perfect about it. I don't know if it's too dull (you glow in BRIGHTS), or if it has too much blue (you glow in warmer colors), or if it's just the lighting. It doesn't look bad, but it's not a perfect color for you.
runaways I too love Mac Fever...it is a beautiful blush!! I love your simple look today.
@missusbee The three things that made a difference for me with mascara: 1) Set my undereye with finishing powder. I use Nyx Illuminating Finishing Powder. 2) Use mascara primer. I use Tarte's. 3) Find a mascara that stays put. I like all of Tarte's mascaras, especially the Amazonian one and Lights Camera Lashes. I suggest finding a $10 sample of some higher end mascaras in the travel sizes at Ulta or Sephora. For eyeshadow recs, you will likely look great in warmer colors, which don't work on me at all. I can't wear most of the colors in Chocolate palette, and many of the Lorac Pro and Pro2 colors have a lot of warmth in them. Many ladies here rave about those palettes, so go for it!. I use UD eye primer and haven't really ventured to anything else because it lasts so long and I keep getting small tubes of it with every purchase.
It was dark when I left my house, so you get a glasses face today!
Face: Tarte 12 hr BB primer, UD concealer for under eye, Tarte pressed powder, Tarte Amazonian finishing powder Cheeks: Benefit Posietint Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart Eyes: I didn't do anything fancy today. IT NP palette Love all over, Soulful on outer V/crease, Mocha a little higher up on crease. Too Faced Perfect Eyes waterproof eye liner in Espresso. UD Subversion primer and UD Perversion mascara. Anastasia duo brow soft brown darker color.
Reviews: Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart - I want to own all of these. They are my new favorite drug store lip product, next to Revlon lip crayons. On a side note, I applied this before breakfast and coffee, so for being a drug store brand and a sheer lip color, it holds up well.
Tarte Amazonian finishing powder - I received this as a gift when I bought new pressed powder. I love this stuff, but likely won't purchase because I think the Nyx finishing powder does the same thing.
Too Faced Perfect Eyes waterproof eye liner in Espresso - I received with the matte palette I purchased...this is stuff is creamy soft and glides on better than anything else I own. The real test is it's staying power. I find these kind of eyeliners usually melt all over by eyes by the end of the day.
UD Perversion mascara - I used my sample size instead of the full size today and WOW. No wonder everyone loves this stuff. I've been on the fence because the regular size is quite messy and clumps easily. The neck of the container isn't small enough to clean the applicator of excess mascara so you have to spend 5 minutes removing all the extra mascara off of it. Most times it's fine and goes on well, but sometimes if I miss a side of the applicator it's clump city! The sample size doesn't have these issues and it is a fantastic mascara. So be warned and maybe just keep buying the sample size if you can.
forreals you look extra lovely today. I really like that eye look.

Thanks, wawa! Yes, I love syrup for MLbb @missusbee

I want to echo this.
forreals- I think you have hit a nice spot with your makeup application. You seem to be accentuating your natural beauty perfectly, and I love it.
runaways- You look great! I love fever on you. I have a fever dupe that you might have made me brave enough to try. lol.

I'm still undecided about it myself that's why I asked for feedback.

this is a good way of putting that and I totally agree.

Tried another new foundation today, and I hate it. It is Givenchy photo perfexion. It didn't blend easily, settled in to my pores immediately, and I definitely got the wrong color. The sephora lady that helped me was all "complexion is my passion!" and also said that pale people are really picky about our foundations. But surely no matter how pigmented someone's skin is, they wouldn't want this?

Same foundation and powder. Too Faced chocolate bar shadow. No liner because I was too rushed. The Balm stainiac on cheeks. Smashbox Vivid Violet lipstick.
Ulta Beauty break is an assortment of MLBB/nude lip products. some full sized drug store brands, and deluxe sample sizes from Lorac and bareminerals.
It's a pretty good Beauty Break. I'm tempted. I've been hemorrhaging money on the makeups lately, but Ulta also has things I want that come with free gifts.
The Beauty Steal today - the half price Anastasia brow gel - is also a good deal.

yeah, I have no beauty budget monies at the moment, or else I'd be tempted too. I actually spent about half an hour walking around ulta holding one of those Anastasia brow gels before putting it back and buying cheap ass clear gel instead.
