pixy0stix and persa, thanks for the advice. I'm making a list for the November sale and the Nars concealer is on it for sure. I've got a free makeover GC with my VIB packet that I think I'll use to get some help with my dark circle, eyebrow, and primer issues.
I need a foundation recommendation for my mom. She has a lot of fine lines and wrinkles from years of smoking and sun. It's hard to find something that evens out the skin tone and covers redness without making her skin look worse, especially powder wise. I feel like something creamy and moisturizing might be the best, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
She probably needs a good BB or CC cream in addition to, on instead of, a foundation.
I adore my Peter Thomas Roth CC cream. It has really good coverage for a CC cream. I use foundation when I want more, but I like it alone for casual days. It really evens things out and it seeps nicely into the skin. It gives a great healthy glow.

Has she tried the Bobbi Brown creamy foundation? I forget what the exact name is. I heard it's good for "mature" skin. She should be able to get a sample.

You betches have created a monster. A week ago I was like "YAY Chocolate Bar! So many pretty colors!" and today I'm like, "this palette doesn't have any greens. I think I need a palette with greens." DAMMIT.

I think a couple people here have it and could weigh in.
I think the new Benefit and Tarte holiday blush palettes are $36 and $42 respectively.
This little mini Tarte set looks so cute. It might be a good way to dabble in the brand, which is known for its blushes, to see if you want to splurge on a more expensive full size one.
If you don't want to wait for the holidays and just want something easy that you can pick up now, I have been happy with both my NYX blushes - one is regular blush and one is a cream blush. And they are cheap. Is Ulta having a 40% off NYX sale right now? They might be. If so, I'd get a few of those in a few colors and just see what you like best.
Yes, Ulta has Nyx, Revlon, Physician's Formula and ... someone else... maybe Loreal... 40% off right now. A lot of people here love the Nyx Blushes and they'd be a super cheap way to play with a few different colors. Then if you find one you like you could always see if Tarte or NARS, et al, have something similar if you want to upgrade. I also like NYX's soft matte lip creams and Revlon's Matte/Laquer/Just Bitten balm stains A LOT. Like most of my lippie wardrobe consists of these.

That's how they got me too. And here six months later, the Vice 3 palette that should be on my doorstep when I get home today (YASSSSSSSS) will be palette #11 in my household. I need my own tv show... 11 Palettes and Counting. My pocket book is my Clown Car. LOL
@smorriso, that is awesome! Now do one with each eyeshadow look, thanks!
My eyeshadow look basically consists of light color on lid, medium transition color above crease, dark color in crease and maybe the outer corner, highlight color on browbone and shimmery light color in inner corner and blend blend blend.
It has taken me almost 40 years to somewhat get a decent multiple color eyeshadow look going (and learning to blend was a revelation) but these more "advanced" looks have yet to be conquered.
The eyeshadows look pretty neat. Also, one is named Dorian Gray. Am I the only one excited about this?
I ordered two blushes (English rose cream blush and radiant orchid) and her hourglass dim powder dupe.
So excited!!!!!
I've been wanting to try the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders but they cost so damned much... I just went and ordered the dupes for Dim and Diffused.
Super simple makeup because I'm lazy this morning. I was looking through my flickr and I think I've only repeated a few looks since February. That is crazy.
Face: Tarte 12 hr bb primer, Tarte pressed powder, Nyx Taupe blush for contour, Dermablend concealer Cheeks: Nyx stick blush Pink Poppy Lips: Revlon Colour Riche Blushing Sequin (a fave because it's a bright coral pink that goes on sheer and feels like chapstick. It has zero staying power though. Reminds me of the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters) Eyes: Lorac Mint Eyes & Cheeks - the lightest matte color all over, the mint blue on the lid, and the light pinky matte color on the crease. Mally Gun Metal eyeliner. Tarte Amazonian mascara. Anastasia brow wiz.

Let me know what you think of the diffused one! I almost got that!
Stila in the moment again, still playing with that
Also, last night some rando dude asked me if I wear contacts. I said I did, and he goes "I knew your eyes couldn't be that pretty naturally." Being the completely awkward person I am, I stammered back "Well, my contacts are just clear, so..."
So, anyway, I think that's a win for my eyeshadow. lol.
SallyJ - where is that shirt from? I have been looking for a flannel shirt.
I got it at Target over a year ago. It's the only flannel patterned shirt I own, but I would like more. I would prefer them to be in more fun colors like this one, instead of the drab forest green/navy/red/black colors I see.
Last but not least in the parade of favorite lipsticks. Eyes: Sleek Scheherazade's Tale and Sultan's Garden over black Marc Jacobs liner. Blush: Tarte Dollface Lips: MAC Goddess of the Sea. It's limited edition so I live in fear of losing it before I find a good dupe.
Okay, here are my poorly lit swatches of Gravitas from the Brooke Shields MAC Collection.
And here are my eyes today, using just this palette. I also have on the bronzer from this collection but I've tried to take a FOTD in three different lighting/locations and I look pale as hell in all of them even though my mirror tells a different story. Oh well.
