Naked foundation is a beautiful thing. You can't see that my nose is actually beet red. At least the swelling has gone down. Yay drugs. NYX blotting powder, Milani red vino blush (really like this), Milani power lip in cabernet blend, WnW smoke n Melrose palette, rimmel scaneleyes eye liner, two faced better than sex mascara and usual eye brows.
I need to swatch but I'm pretty sure cabernet blend is a decent dup for WnW global fierceness. I really hope so. Thanks for the find greeneggs.
Can someone walk me through blush? I haven't used it in 10+ years because I think it makes me look clownish. Recommendations (I have medium-light skin with warm tones) and links to application techniques appreciated.
BMT I definitely thought my cheeks were too red for blush! Now, it is one of my favorite things. My starter blush that I bet would look great on you was benefit rockateur. It is scented though. I second ESF about exposed (tarte). Both of those take work to go clownish:)

That's my problem - I don't have rosacea or anything, but I usually have a bit of flush to my cheeks, so I never thought I needed it to add some color, and that adding more color would look... like too much color. But I'll trust you!

msmerymac another option (on the cheap side) would be nyx cream blush in natural. Both HBC and I love it - so I'm confident it works on a variety of skin tones and i'm pretty sure it's next to impossible to make it look clowny. It's just a really soft pretty pink and blends out really easily.
Oddly enough I just ordered this.
What do you use to blend/apply it? This is my first attempt at cream blush.
Has anyone tried this Younique 3d mascara that it seems like 2/3 of my Facebook friends are selling?
I tried it when I was drunk once lol.
It was a bottle that was brand new and it did look amazing. Word on the street is the more you use it the clumpier it gets because the fibers get stuck on the brush and in the tube.
Plus it is $30 and I know you can buy nice mascara for that amount of money.
For those who haven't had success with Ipsy, are you reviewing the products you get? Ipsy has gotten better for me over time, but I am religious about reviewing what I like and what I don't. As in 'Don't send me this shit again', or 'WTF is this color'. I give a lot of feedback and almost always appreciate 3 of the 5 items. This time I like all 5.
I think this is the mistake I made when I had ipsy, not providing feedback. The colors were horrible for me. It was like they thought I was a fair skinned blonde, not a medium skinned brunette.
I've reviewed a few things but definitely not all of them.

I'd say that is pretty darn close! Maybe just a hair bit more fuschia than the WnW

I got new makeups yesterday! I went a little e.l.f. crazy considering I went to Target for deodorant...
e.l.f. Jumbo Lip gloss Stick in Movie Star: Goes on really nicely and has impressive staying power for a gloss. Not too shiny--I put it on top of lip stain and it smoothed the whole look. I like.
e.l.f. Lip Stain in Crimson Crush: I don't like the way it goes on, but I probably need to exfoliate my lips. For a stain, it faded pretty quickly (about 2 hours) so I ended up with a nasty lip liner look. I'll try it again after exfoliating.
e.l.f. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Coffee: Super thin line. Impressively waterproof. (I put it on my hand and rubbed fiercely--didn't budge, but came right off with makeup remover.) I wish they had it in black, but the coffee is a nice, soft brown. Not terribly pigmented, but easy enough to layer.
My winged eyeliner. I used ELF's waterproof pen in black. It's actually one of my favorite eyeliners, easy to use and stays put (and cheap!). But I can't line my eyes the same to save my life, which further adds to my crookedness (can you tell I'm obsessed with this right now). Lavigne BB in medium Tarte cheek tint in deep berry Elf waterproof pen in black Loreal million lashes NYX brow kit in blonde Forgot to do my lips
ijack, That is why, as much as I love winged eyeliner or a cat eye look, I just can't do it. I can never get both eyes the same (even with tape, and following the guideline of my lower lash line, one is always more slanted than the other). So I've just stopped doing it.
wawa I'm with you in that I too have to get comfortable with the idea of the cat eye look at work. I'm thinking I'll just play around with the concept this weekend.
I got excited this past weekend because the Target add in Sunday's paper announced the fact that they are now carrying NYX but after trips to two Targets I still came up empty handed. Why don't my local stores carry this line!?!
My skin is still peeling from my sunburn which is making my makeup application terribly uneven. Probably ought to do another scrub in the next day or so.
N3 pinky colors on my eyes, Too Faced Matte London Fog just a bit in the outer V and slightly into the crease. I bought the Lorac Front of the Line Pro liquid liner pen in Navy at the Ulta beauty days sale yesterday. It is pretty fantastic I have to say - one of the better liquid liner pens I've used. This is round 2 of cateye because I fucked up the first round and had to remove and re-do. This challenge is anxiety inducing. Lips have Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in Sweetheart Valentine with Nyx Strawberry Parfait butter gloss.

I cover up my red a bit with foundation/concealer because I like choosing my flush color and placement via blush:)

I don't like it for foundation. But I LOVE it for blush. For my nyx cream blush I just dab it directly into the compact, then tap tap tap where I want it on my cheeks and then kinda swishy swish it all over the damn place to blend it out.
For stick style cream blushes or stains I apply directly from the stick onto my face, and then go straight to swishy blending motions with the brush.
I used to dab but I found I wasn't getting color where I wanted so now I use downward stroked with the stippling brush. Sometimes they called called Duo-Fiber brushes, btw. That's how it's labeled in the SK anniversary set.
If you're going to pick up an NYX cream blush, pick up tickled as well while you're getting the natural. I talked a lot of shit about it when I got it but my mind has been completely changed since owning a stippling brush.
I wish my Geek Chic order would ship. It's been almost two weeks and nada. Order status has said "pending shipment" since the day after I placed my order. The website says it can take up to 10 business days to ship but I'm just seriously impatient, like a kid waiting for Christmas. LOL
Right before I saw them I even said, "wouldn't it be hilarious if..."
Czech drugstores have testers for everything, which is both wonderful and dangerous.
I'm tempted to go back and get this duo chrome color tattoo. It is similar to a limited edition one in the US. They also have a matte black I haven't seen before.
Side note-I used a sample of the Bumble and Bumble hairdresser's oil and ZOMG! I love it. The smell and how it makes my hair feel. I do not look like this: Attachment Deleted

Sadly, that sh!t is $$$.
But you only need a tiny, tiny amount. And they sell small size bottles.
Yesterday, I went to Morphe's website. Most of the colors are sold out. I tried to find 12 colors I liked that were in stock. Then you throw in the palette to hold them and shipping, and it adds up to $40+ for a 12 color palette. Since I didn't love the 12 color assortment that I could cobble together, I didn't pull the trigger. So I'm not placing an order until they do some substantial re-stocking.
But I want pretty colors before my trip next month, so I'm running short on time, and may need to abandon hopes of Morphe shadow for my next palette purchase.
