Ok, I got my 20% off ULTA coupon in the mail. How bad is it that I think I'm going to buy all my items from ULTA? Sephora is only going to be 15% off for VIB.
So happy it covers my DEVA hair stuff! And prestige!
I know this is going to sound crazy and someone please school me but the Sigma e55 does not perform any differently IMO than the $1 elf one of the same design.
FWIW, I have a Sonia Kashuk that I got for about $5 and it works just fine. I had listed this one because, functionally, I think a brush of that style is extremely useful, and using the MAC and Sigma style numbers makes it easy for people to look it up. If you can make good use of a less expensive alternative, you should absolutely go for it.
The only higher cost brushes I will die on a hill for are my E25/MAC 217 and E40/MAC 224.
ETA: And in six months, I may not be willing to die on that hill, either, if I find a suitable alternative in the interim.
ETA2: I just realized that several brushes I use every day and love are not listed. heyjude, was that all I posted? I thought I had listed more - a pencil brush, eyeliner, gel liner, etc.. Maybe I listed then only in my head. :-). Also, I strongly recommend a stippling brush, and I finally ordered the Sigma F80 yesterday, which is supposed to be great for foundation.
See, I hate my E40 from Sigma. I don't' know if I just got a bum brush in my kit, but it is completely too domed at the top and just does not blend like I want it to. I actually bought the E35 which is a larger version of the E25, and I use it as I would the E40. I like it so much better.
ETA: I also own the Crown version of the E37 brush and I love it. If I'm doing any kind of dark shadow crease, I use this brush to blend the concentrated color vs. a transition color. It fits so well in the groove of the crease and is easy to pull up the shadow to a nice blend into the transition.
That is the only sigma brush I have (E40) and I don't like it a lot for blending. I don't know if it is not dense enough for my liking?

I bought this from Ulta today. It is $98. It was a bit of a tough decision because I got the megapro palette and DEFINITELY do not need more eye shadow! But, I want to try the other things, plan on giving the original pro palette to someone for Christmas, and will keep pro 2 since it has cooler colors. That plan made me feel better I also bought the Tarte "calendar" with lots of deluxe sized options. I especially wanted to try the eye cream. That 20% off is so enabling...
I bought the UD optical blurring brush and full frontal set and some setting spray from the UD sale the other day... actually, two of each - one to keep and one to gift. I really need to shut it down!
I think I have lost the very last of the little color I had this summer because now my Dr. Perricone no foundation foundation serum looks not so good... too dark and warm. I wish they would come out with a fair in that like they did with the foundation (now that I know they are different things. haha!) I stocked up on deluxe samples of it too. maybe save it for next summer? If I don't open it, it will probably still be fine, right?

Yup. Sounds about right I really want that mini-aubergine pencil from Bite. I wish I could find a swatch of Date.
I think Date is a limited edition color. None of the lipsticks in the regular line are that color.
Since I'm about the only person here that hasn't bought Bite Fig, I'm going to get that duo. Also, the two other Fig colored products in my collection (becca blush, melted fig) are two of my favorite things, so I think I need to keep buying fig colored things.
I really wish the Bare Minerals sets had some of their lipsticks in them, but they are all gloss sets. I really love the lipstick of theirs that I got as a free sample from Sephora, and I want more.
Are all Z palettes the same? Are there any that are better than others?
Tarte's packaging for their Christmas sets from Ulta is just not practical. If I would find something that the little palettes would fit into neatly, that would be nice, otherwise I think I'm ready to start depotting those suckers into something a little less bulky.
They're different sizes, but other than that they're all constructed the same.

I blasted my hair with the blow dryer for a very short time to get it somewhere between damp and wet and then sprayed liberally. Then I proceeded to style as normal. This entails blow drying my hair for an additional 2-5 minutes and throwing my hands up in frustration, accepting it as good enough because I've run out of time from dilly dallying with my makeup.

I adore the invisible oil. I have leave in conditioner. When I use that, I usually add two pumps of oil to my conditioner and comb both through my hair.
Alternatively, I just pump a bit on my hands when my hair is dry and rub it through. I find I use more this way, but the glorious smell stays longer.
I have tried samples of the shampoo and conditioner and they are awesome too. I will buy both during the sale next month.

Can we talk make up for photos? I can't remember if we have had this conversation before or not.
we are having family photos taken this weekend. I think I've read somewhere that I should avoid anything with SPF in it. Is that true? And also that I should stick to mattes.
Rookie question. I've never been able to have eyeliner or even mascara on the bottom of my eye. I don't know if my eyes tear more than normal or what, but it inevitably always runs and looks like shit. But I love it on other people!
What am I (likely) doing wrong?! Are there specific products I should be using for my under eye?
romigu I ended up getting a hookup for employee appreciation which was an unexpected surprise. Need anything?
I think if I used the term "need" very loosely I could come up with a good list but im ok for now thank you. I thought maybe there was a code floating around. Plus, I'm returning the NARS sex appeal blush so that's an extra $30 for makeup. It was too subtle for my liking

The dictionary I use has very broad definitions, lol. [/quote]
That is how we are on our third makeup thread.
All my life, I thought Suave was fine. Then I used a sample of Bumble & Bumble and my friend went on for like 10 minutes about the glory of my hair. Now I "need" $30 shampoo instead of $3 shampoo and am getting hives waiting for the chance to buy it.

I don't know about the SPF. Matte face definitely, a little highlighter if you want.

Using powder under the eyes helps keep things from wandering.

I think the spf can reflect or show blotchy white spots in photos.
Vice 3 arrived on my doorstep yesterday. It's gorgeous, but I can absolutely see why it got mediocre reviews for texture and fallout. Just firmly pressing my brush into the pan of Last Sin this morning dug out a huge chunk of soft, powdery shadow. I like the palette, but the quality is definitely not typical Urban Decay.
That said, FOTD:
Vice 3 Last Sin on lids, Dragon in the crease (mine looks more olive than the bright green I'm seeing in ither swatch photos online), and a touch of MUFE Artist Shadow Black Gold in the inner v. MAC Melba blush, Too Faced Sweet Maple lipstick, and Hourglass Immaculate foundation.
