They really push Disney. I feel as if they partake in a bit of false advertising, only showcasing the few exceptions. I had a friend whose son had an inoperable brain tumor, and practically every idea they had was shot down, so they settled for Disney. They may be better suited to have a list of available wishes.
I hope he finds an alternative he'll be just as happy with.

That's hard - poor guy. It doesn't seem fair considering the concept of the program.
I would look into the Alaska cruise idea or something similar. I feel as though if you give them a very concrete vacation package idea they would be more likely to ok it. Too bad about the car.

That sucks. I wonder if, over time, they have had to scale back what they will grant because of liability, as you said. If so, I think the suggestion that they have a list to choose from would be a better approach.
Man, that really blows. I would call them out on telling him yes and getting his hopes up. That's pretty shitty. I do think a good alternative might be a vacation of some sort though. Somewhere he can fish or go hunting on your dime?

Trip to Alaska? He could ask to go see the bears at Katmai! Some friends of ours run an amazing remote island hunting/fishing/hiking/kayaking lodge near Kodiak.
That really sucks that they said yes and now you have to tell him otherwise
