Vents/Issues: My 18 w/12 at marathon pace last week was kind of a mess. I got there, but not in a way that makes me think I can hit it on marathon day. It was 80 degrees when I finished, so I'm hoping I can try another pace long run next week.
Highlights: I have a few this week 1. My kids first XC meet of the season. They both placed, which is awesome. They were so happy. Huge improvements from last year too. 2. 72 miles for the week! I was worried last week I wouldn't be able to, but my body is handling 12/70 pretty well. I don't feel time improvements going from 55 to 70, but at least I will know I tried and I'm having fun with the plan. 3. Cooler weather (on all but my long run day, boo) has had me sort of close to some of my Spring paces.

that is a LOT of miles! Â take care of yourself!!
It is slightly bonkers seeing it written down. I'm listening to my body and have no problems backing off if I need to.
M -3.12 slogged out on the treadmill T -Cross training W -4 miles planned with 1 mile warm, 6 400 repeats with 90 seconds recovery in between, 1 mile cool down Th - rest day (Meeting with DS's school) F - crosstrain, maybe a quick 2 miles Sa 5.5 miles (planning to run outside) Su rest
Vents/Issues: I had a great run outside on Saturday and then yesterday being back on the treadmill stunk. I literally slogged thru it counting the seconds until it was over.
Highlights: My run outside on Saturday was awesome - I felt great, the scenery was beautiful and the weather was perfect.
Mon: 7 miles, drills, quick upper body strength Tues: not sure yet. Maybe 12 but I'm tired Wed: cross train, strength Thurs: 8 miles Fri: whatever I don't do today (either 8 or 12), strength Sat and sun: TBD. DH works so that throws a wrench in the system
Vents: I am not hitting my goal paces. Last week was supposed to be 16 w/ 10 at MP. Now granted I did this after work one day and it was 1:00 but still, times were way way off. AW/highlights?: I did hit 48 miles last week which is more than I have done in a long time!

What are you training for? Date? MCM 10/26
Training plan for the week? This week is off-schedule because I raced a half on Sunday, but something like this:
M: 4 mi recovery run, core exercises T: strength and yoga W: 10-12 mi with 6 @ GMP, yoga Th: strength F: 5 mi Sat: 21 mi Sun: rest
Any issues or vents to discuss? I'm usually very strict about sticking to my training plan, but my attitude right now is more like, "I'll do whatever I can fit in," which is very unlike me, but it also feels refreshing and less stressful.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? PRed my half marathon by 2 min 40 sec, which I was not expecting at all.
Training for - Wineglass Half 10/5 Training plan for this week- Su: 6.2; Mon: cross/strength; Tues: 3.5, Thurs or Friday 4 miles one day 5-6 miles the other, Saturday rest and my long run for the week will be not until Tuesday- 11miles. Vacation starting Saturday is causing me to shift a bunch of stuff around!
Issues- Having trouble balancing my love of early morning running with my desire to stay up late at night to get things done.
Highlights- hands down my run on Sunday. I was able to run with an old running buddy I hadn't seen in forever, and we were up at dawn running along the canal and it was so beautiful out. It was really one of the most awesome runs I've had in a long time. I love being out there at sunup, and I love having my workout done before most folks are awake. So peaceful.
What are you training for? Date?9/27 Clarendon Days 10K, Army 10-miler 10/12, 2 other 10Ks, Potomac River Run Marathon 11/16, Kiawah 12/13
Training plan for the week? Mon-Rest, Tues-8M, Wed-8M w/ 5x600m, Thur- 5M, Sat - 8M w/ 8x100m, Sun - 14M
Any issues or vents to discuss?Everything is going pretty well. I've been indulging food and alcohol wise a little too much over the last couple of days. I'm not trying to gain weight during marathon training, so I need to clean up my eating a little.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I've found a great running partner who lives in my neighborhood and we pounded it out Sunday morning with 12 miles at GMP, 15 miles total. We ran right where the race is going to be held on the C&O canal. We actually finished at 1:35:14 which was 7:56 pace and faster than my goal at 8:10.

Training plan for the week? S-15 miles, yoga, upper body, and walk M-run 8, teach three, abs/push-ups T-teach 2 W-run 8-9, teach 2, maybe take Pilates or yoga class Th-run 6-7, teach 2, maybe yoga or upper body F-run 7-8, teach one, lift or yoga S-teach 2
Any issues or vents to discuss? Just sick of the damn heat still hanging on
Highlights or AW's from the past week? Still keeping up mileage. Great pace for my 15 Sunday!!!
Training plan for the week? M - Cross + strength T - 8m + stretch W - 18m w 14 @ mp Th - rest F - 5m +stretch Sat - 6m w 5x1000m at 5K pace Sun - 10m
Any issues or vents to discuss? I'm visiting my mom this weekend, so I moved my 18m run to Wed after work. I can get 10 in when we are visiting, but 18 seems like a bit much.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? Finished a few seconds off my PR on Sunday. I think I can PR in a week where I haven't run 20 36 hrs before the race. At the same time I'm happy I was able to get in a race and have fun. I enjoy racing and am glad that I was able to get the race in and my long run.

Training plan for the week? Mon - rest Tues - rest Wed - 3 mile slow run Thurs - rest Fri - rest Sat - maybe a 7 mile trail race, if not 3 miles Sun - 3 miles if I do the trail race, if not 5 miles
Any issues or vents to discuss? Work has been so busy and this weekend was busy with the half, I'm mentally drained at this point.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? Half Marathon
What are you training for? Date? 10k 9.27, 26.2 10.26, 13.1 12.13
Training plan for the week? M: rest T: 10-11 mi run,abs W: 10x800, abs R: easy 5-6, F: easy4-5, ST S: 14 mi S: 8 mi
Any issues or vents to discuss? I will miss all the daylight also, it seems I burn less cal per mile when it's cooler out. Boo to that.
Highlights or AW's from the past week First 20 last sat and it went really well. Did the last 5 mi at GMP and felt good. Followed up with an 8 miler the next day at MP pace or faster that also felt easy. Thinking I may need to reassess race pace. We'll see how the Yasso 800s go on Wednesday
Training plan for the week? M: Easy 4.25 T: 3.1 Hills W: Rest Th: strength, 2-3 tempo F: Rest Sat: No training, but hike with family and 40lbs (baby, backpack, water, etc.) on my back Sun: 10-12 (we will be out of town, so route dependent)
Issues: Hip/IT band a little sore, but foam roller seems to be helping a LOT
AW: Last weeks 11.2 felt great! I love fall running.

What are you training for? Date? Half on 10/19, plus a few things in between.
Training plan for the week? Yesterday abs, tonight 6.2 with a couple of friends (we're doing the Beat the Blerch virtual 10k), Thursday 4 miles, Sunday OSU 4 miler.
Any issues or vents to discuss? My foot is a little tender in the fleshy part on the side of the bottom (I don't know if that makes any sense). It feels like it's just sore muscle but seems like a weird place to get it. It was really sore on Sunday but it's been just mildly bothersome since. I think my shoes are nearing the end of their life, which bums me out and may be the culprit. I WANT MY RAVENNA 4 BACK! Sigh.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I ran 10 miles on Saturday! It was my first double digit distance so I'm pretty happy about it, it was a pretty big milestone mentally.
What are you training for? Date? Columbus HM, 10/19
Training plan for the week? Yesterday: 3.3 miles easy with AJ in the jogger Today: rest Tomorrow: 6 miles at 9mins/mile or faster Thurs: somewhere between 3-5 miles easy Friday: rest (or 3-5 miles easy if I don't do it Thurs) Sat: depends on what time I have to be at work. Maybe a few easy miles maybe not. Sunday: racing a 4 miler, with probably a 1-2 mile warmup beforehand. Yay for fallback week!
Any issues or vents to discuss? not really. The odd aches and pains are getting better thank goodness!
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I had a 25 mile week last week and am not in pain! The last time I did that (mid-June?) my Achilles bitched at me for a solid week after. Oh, and we're getting some delightful morning running temps right now.
What are you training for? Date? -5k charity run this weekend, Augusta 70.3 (swim leg) 9/28
Training plan for the week? M/F Masters Tues- Yoga Wed - Run Thurs - off Sat - Race
Any issues or vents to discuss? - My Achilles tendinitis is flaring up, my calves are super tight and I can't get them to loosen up no matter what I do, my running shoes suddenly stopped working for me, and non H&F, I just found out my car needs a couple unexpected repairs (cries).
I did my first Hal Higdon training schedule run in prep for the Austin Marathon in February. We shall see if I survive. So here's what the week first week is supposed to look like.
ETA: Wait. Just looked at his Novice 1 schedule and it's not nearly as killer as the Novice 2 Schedule. So I think I'll ease into it with the Novice 1 plan. I think I must have been looking at the beginner schedule that was 30 weeks long and thought that was Novice 1.
M:Rest T: 3m Run W: 3 m pace T: 3 m Run F: Rest S: 6 S: Rest
So my issue is I have no idea what my pace is for tomorrow's run. I just want to survive. Is that a pace?
What are you training for? Date? Cyclocross! The Georgia series starts off with a double race weekend in 2 weeks.
Training plan for the week? Sat.: MTB Race, Sunday: 2.5 hour gravel grinder, Monday: Massage, Tuesday: 60 minute recovery ride, Wed.: Cyclocross practice w/intervals, Thursday: Hilly moderate group ride, Friday: Off, Sat.: Depends on how my back is, probably 2-3 hour road ride on flatter terrain, Sunday: CX Practice
Any issues or vents to discuss? I threw my back out again at my cx clinic last week. I hope it doesn't get worse.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I got 2nd at my mountain bike race on Sat. I also won the overall for my division for the entire series. Thanks to H&F "liking" my photo on FB, I won an awesome Osprey hydration pack in the photo contest.
Mostly rest this week to get over my cold and prep for the race. Light swimming, biking and running today and Thursday.
I have to get over this cold that has been plaguing me for a week! I can't swim with this hacking cough. Also, my son's swimming lessons are at the same pool where the swim portion of the trip will be. His lessons were canceled today because they are having problems with the pool's pump. I hope they get it fixed by Saturday.
I had an awesome bike/run brick on Friday, despite carrying tissues on my run.

What are you training for? Date? Wineglass Marathon - Oct 5th
Training plan for the week? Mon - Recovery Swim/Stretch Tues - Lifting & Track 8x800 Wed - Rest Thurs - 7mi Tempo Fri - Lifting Sat - Spin Sun - 13mi @gmp
Any issues or vents to discuss? My calves are still really cranky. I thought they were feeling better, but my track workout was REALLY hard this morning. I'm going to keep using the Stick on them and hope that they get better through taper
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I ran the C&O Canal trail which was so gloriously flat for my 22mi run...I don't know why I didn't try this sooner! It was the first time that I ran every mile straight through eventhough it was really tough for the last couple miles. I have done pitiful run/walk for the last 2mi of all my long runs over 16 and it was killing my confidence, so I'm glad I was able to get over that hump!
Training for - cyclocross race either this weekend or next
M - strength and endurance (90 min) T - endurance/intervals (70 min) W - easy ride (60 min) R/F - up in the air if I decide to race this weekend Sa/Su - race or endurance recovery
I rode a charity ride last weekend and achieved my fastest average cadence/mph for that distance so far. Still slow, but getting better!
What are you training for? Date? Nike Women's Half 10/19 Local Trail Challenge Half 11/9
Training plan for the week? M: Strength/gym T: 4.5m easy pace W: 40 min tempo R: 3m easy pace F: Rest S: 5m race pace S: 9m
Any issues or vents to discuss? I know this sounds obnoxious but I"m having a really hard time running slow during runs that are supposed to be easy pace. Especially Tuesday runs. I don't run Mondays, so my legs feel fresh, I run early so I feel invigorated, and I run at work where it's flat, so the effort feels easier. I just don't have the discipline to run slow on those days and they are supposed to be recovery days. This morning I ran more than my scheduled 4.5 at 10 seconds faster than target race pace. I'm worried this is going to bite me and I"m going to get injured. This Thursday I'm going to make it my mission to stay a full minute slower than race pace.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I had 9 miles on my schedule last Sunday and I wound up running them with my neighbor who's a total badass.* He's 30 years older than me at least and he's done so many marathons in his day (including Boston). He has been running the trails around our house since I was in elementary school. Anyway, he asked to run together on Sunday for the first time and it was so fun. He showed me so many trails I had been too leery to explore on my own. He's a tried and true trail runner with the style of an ultrarrunner, so it was more running with bouts of powerhiking. I didn't get even close to my target pace, but man it was one of those days that just makes you love running.
* This dude is a badass in the truest sense. eg: he's got a freaking welding shop in his garage, and when we were chatting about our cracked driveway, he informed us it's because there is no rebar in the concrete, which he knows because he removed his entire driveway one summer himself, laid the rebar and repoured his driveway.

What are you training for? Date?
Space Coast half 11/30 Gasparilla half 2/22 Tink half 5/10
Training plan for the week?
The key word here is planned. None of the runs will actually happen as planned. M: run 49 min T: strength W: 49 min
R: XT
F: Rest
S: 5.5 mi S: Strength
Any issues or vents to discuss?
Still with the shin splint issue. It's getting better, but I'm already 3 weeks into a 12 week training plan and have done NO training. There's no way I can catch up now, so the November half will be a real shit show. So much for a redemption race.
Highlights or AW's from the past week?
I got to run last night! For 10 whole minutes. At least there's no soreness today, but my legs felt SO weak. I'm starting from scratch yet again. I get to work up to 20 minutes by next Tuesday, and hopefully everything will progress from there.
Any issues or vents to discuss? My calves are still really cranky. I thought they were feeling better, but my track workout was REALLY hard this morning. I'm going to keep using the Stick on them and hope that they get better through taper
I have worn my compression socks or sleeves every day I've run in the past week. It's been the only way to keep those calves from mooing in anger at me.
I need to get some sleeves - I was thinking during my run this AM. I have socks that I wear after my long runs, but they are too tight on my feet to actually run in.

Any issues or vents to discuss?
I think my foot is bruised from the new boots I walked around in on Saturday. It only hurts if I tough it and when I start running, but then it goes away.
Highlights or AW's from the past week?
Enjoyed the sub 40 temps from my long run last week
What are you training for? Date? 5K this weekend, Half Marathon (undecided which one) in November
Training plan for the week? M- 400 meter repeats T-CrossFit (more 400 meter runs in WOD.....wtf) W-CrossFit Thursday - 4 miles Friday - CrossFit Saturday - 6 miles Sunday - 5K Any issues or vents to discuss? I feel behind in half training, and won't be able to get in long runs for the next two weekends.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I did 50 du's in a row this morning. Was so happy!
