I enjoyed both, but I really loved the ending and the Sister love theme of Frozen, especially since having three little girls. I think the songs are more catchy from Frozen, my girls learned the lyrics really fast and love belting them out, and I can't think of any song from Tangled that they did this with. I did really like the lighted lantern scene with Rapunzel and Eugene though.
I think Tangled is the better movie but it just doesnt seem to get the same love as Frozen.
It does seem like the love for Frozen is a lot more extreme. Idk if that's because it really is or I just wasn't paying attention back when Tangled came out. The lines at Disney for Anna and Elsa were crazy. Two hours to meet a pretend princess in a costume! I noticed that there was no line at all for poor Mulan, lol.

I love them both, but Tangled. I can actually physically feel my nerdness every time I say this, lol, but the lantern/I See the Light scene makes me cry every time I watch it - it's just so beautiful.

I don't really like Tangled, so I pick Frozen. (I don't *hate* Tangled; I just like some of the other Disney movies more. I realize I'm alone in not getting the hype over that one.)

I love Mulan! I still listen to the Mulan soundtrack too.
I like them both, but the kids have been obsessed with Tangled lately. It was on TV the other night and they were so entranced. We DVRd it and they ask for it every day.

I've always liked it too. I used to show clips from the beginning where she's meeting the matchmaker and they're singing about the Admonitions to my 9th graders for our unit on ancient China. And then invariably they'd beg for a clip of I'll Make a Man Out of You, lol.
Can I throw a wrench in? Do we all agree that earlier Disney is better than both? E.g., Beauty and the Beast, Aladin, Lion King.
Maybe I'm biased b/c those were the ones I grew up with.
I think I am too. Beauty and the Beast was always my favorite. Although I saw Aladdin over the summer after RW died and I forgot how funny it is! It's very clever how they combine humor for adults with age appropriate jokes for children.
I haven't seen Tangled, but I like Frozen a lot. I love Kristin Bell so that probably influences my thinking. Also, I think it's neat how they changed it so an act of true love was saving her sister and not a kiss from a guy.

I like Tangled the best. DD1 is torn between the two. While she is Frozen obsessed, she still asks to watch Tangled just as much and sleeps with her stuffed Rapunzel!

I used to feel that way, but the messages in those movies were so fucked up and anti-feminist that now I can't get past that when watching them.

But Belle read alot! I think I felt that way from an early age about the Little Mermaid (she was too giggly and anti-feminist).
The thing that annoyed me about Aladin was that the genie didn't really make him a Prince - he made him look like a prince. But to me they're not the same, so WTF all powerful genie? And the whole thing resolves b/c the Sultan says "okay, you can marry anyone you want."

I have only watched each movie once, but I found Tangled much more entertaining. I'm not a huge Frozen fan. I realize I am nearly alone on this opinion.

Yep, this is how I feel.
I'd much rather my girls watch Tangled or Brave or Frozen. Or Princess and the Frog, which is probably my very favorite of the newer princess movies.
I adore Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, and Alladin as much as any other girl who grew up in the 90's, but the more recent princesses are much better role models. Several of them are pretty kick ass :-)
I basically sob my way from the lantern scene to the end of the movie. Sooo, don't feel bad. Lol
And at WDW, when they do the castle projection show and the lantern scene came on, I gasped and got all teary. Because I'm that lame.
I'm in good company then. I've never been to WDW, but I will probably cry if I ever get to go, when I get there. I can't deal with a lot of emotion without crying! lol.

I agree that the messages for little girls are much better these days with the newer movies... but I challenge anyone to pry the older Disney movies from my cold, dead, nostalgic hands.
