Never seen those before DarcyLongfellow. I promise that among the places I looked for milk was the grocery store. I gave up caring and we just get whatever when we're out (and honestly, it's more likely to be chocolate milk with a Happy Meal than anything at Starbucks).

Ha! Good point. Not exactly rocket science to look at a grocery for milk, is it?
I did have trouble finding them, though, when DD1 was little. They were in a weird place, not with the other boxed milk, but with the powdered milk or something.
I've also given up and now my kid basically drinks no milk, ever.

So I haven't looked for a while either but this thread prompted me to google and apparently loblaws carries them now. I'll have to check. My kids can buy milk at school for a buck but with only 25 minutes to eat I hate to for them to waste that time.
I always just bought a cup of milk - mostly because when DD1 was little I was more than a little uptight and HAD TO have whole milk for her. But now, if I'm at SB buying a sugar-laden drink then my kids can have a cup of sugared milk too whether that's hot chocolate or flavored milk.

I worked at Starbucks for 5 years. I never heard anyone complain that there wasn't plain milk in the box. They either bought the boxes or asked for a kids (short) milk.

See, and I definitely remember people asking for plain organic milk when I worked in the stores (back in 2004-05). Maybe it's a market-specific thing? There's definitely a demand in the Seattle area.

Well there was plain organic milk that was used for drinks until maybe 2006? So someone could have gotten that if they really wanted until they stopped having organic as an option. ETA: It was plain right? Or was it vanilla too? The green box.
I think it very much could be market-specific though. I live in NE Ohio and the majority of my Starbucks time (I was at 3 different stores total) was in a college town so definitely not the largest demand for plain milk.

Yep, there was that milk--actually, it was Parmalat. So gross, LOL! I do remember offering that to parents wanting plain organic, but always gave a disclaimer that it might taste different to the kid because it was shelf-stable. Did you ever try that stuff? So weird.

It was disgusting! I remember trying it and being like "wait this is supposed to be fancy organic???" Ugh and the smell when it was steamed extra hot... I'm getting nauseous just thinking about it!

This milk did. It was UHT shelf-stable tetrapak milk. From Italy. I think UHT milk is "flat" tasting anyway, but this stuff was bizarre.
