First: 12 hours start to finish. 15 min pushing. I was 40w4d
Second: was 4.5cm dialated at my appt at 39w6d, and was warned of a quick 2nd labor. The OB said a quick second labor is more likely based on your pushing time the first time around. She said if my water broke at home, seriously call an ambulance. DH and I were scared after that, since he works 2nd shift, 45 min from home, which is another 45 min from the hospital.
Two days later, nothing had happened yet, so we took DD to daycare and went to walk around the mall for a bit. Then it was clear nothing was happening except my mental state was deteriorating, so we called the dr who said to come in and get checked.
We arrived at the hospital and I was at 6cm, still not feeling any contrax. I was GBS+ though, so they hooked that up and decided to reevaluate after I had the doses. After that, they checked me, and I was at 7, so they broke my water, shit got real, and DS was out about an hour later, again 15 min of pushing.

DS1 was 11 days late. Had contractions for 24+ hours, stalled at 7cm, needed pitocin and after pushing for an hour, ended up with a vacuum assist. So slow.
DS2 was 9 days late. Had my first contraction at 3:00 pm, went to the hospital at 7:00 pm, barely making the walk through the parking lot. Checked in at 8cm, probably shouldn't have gotten an epi but did, and he was born after 2 pushes.

First - 12 hours, just under 2 hours pushing.
Second - 6.5 hours, pushed for about six minutes. We cut it a little close. They checked me when I got to the hospital and I was 5-6 cm. baby was born less than an hour later.
I only have one but I hope to God my pushing is faster than two hours next time around! These posts are actually encouraging to me, haha.
The shorter push times are hugely encouraging to me! DS1 needed a vacuum assist after four hours of pushing. Anything under two hours sounds amazing.
My midwife was telling me at my first appointment that if I pushed for an hour the first time to expect less than 20 minutes this time. A friend said she pushed for 3+ hours and needed a vacuum assist the first time and the second time literally pushed for only 10 minutes.
My first labor was about about 18 hrs, with like 5 hrs of pushing and a sunny side up baby.
Second labor: from the first time-able contractions to giving birth was about 6 hrs. The thing that really surprised me was that I expected the contractions to proceed in severity from mild to moderate to severe to delivery in a more gradual fashion, kind of like they did the first time around. Instead, I went from moderate contractions (~7 min apart), where I thought I could be hours away from delivery, to 3 min apart, horrifically painful contractions, and time to push, in literally a 10 minute time period. I was really lucky that I was at the hospital when that occurred, or I would have been having the baby at home or on the car. I had been in the hospital about 1.5 hrs when the baby was born. I think pushing still took somewhere near an hour, but it was chaos, so I'm not 100% sure. I get really nervous now when I see second time moms on here posting that they are having contractions 5-7 min apart and still haven't even dropped off their kids yet. My ob/midwives had told me ahead of time that they recommend that only first time mom's wait until 5 min apart - 2nd timers should go to the hospital more like 8-10 min apart. So yes...have a plan for a quick drop off if needed!
Oh, and both my labors started in the middle of the night, thank goodness, so I didn't need to deal with my husband getting himself home or anything.
Side note - recovery was much easier the 2nd time
This is freaking me out. I am already having BH's at 8 minute intervals so how the heck will I know when it's the real deal? And my mom is coming from 2 hours away to watch DS plus an hour drive to the hospital. Eek. Even if we don't wait for my mom, DH works an hour away.
On the plus side, I pushed for 3 hours last time so maybe it will be less this time.
This is really encouraging to me! My labor was 25 hours. I only pushed 45 mins, but getting there took FORREVVVVERRRRRRRR. I hope and pray my next labor is shorter!

Mine was definitely fast. It was 8 hours with my first and a little over 3.5 with my second. I did not have time for an epidural. If you first was fast, DO NOT putz around!
I was induced both times. With ODS I had about 23 hours of labor with three hours of pushing. He was posterior. With YDS, I was one less centimeter dilated going in, but it only took 12 hours and 16 mins of pushing. He was a half pound lighter and positioned correctly.
My first labor was about about 18 hrs, with like 5 hrs of pushing and a sunny side up baby.

Sorry - I don't want to scare anyone! I think it's good to know that a fast labor is a possibility though, just so you can maybe think of a few backup plans. You never know which way it will go. I had a ton of BH's the last few weeks of pregnancy as well, but for me, those were a) not consistent, i.e maybe 8 min apart for 20 min, then they'd stop, then sort of be all over the place. b) not very painful, more like a tightening. I was pretty sure I knew when I was in "real" labor, because the contractions became more sharp/semi-painful, and were a consistent 7-8 min apart for an hour or more. I was also 4 cm dilated at my last appt on a Wed, and went into labor early morning Friday, so if you know if you're dilated or not, might give you some info. Good luck! The midwife said there are no guarantees, but that on average, second labors are definitely less pushing time, easier, less tearing, etc compared to the first
