I am seriously so blessed in my job for so many reasons. But this one is awesome...I get to go to D.C. next month! I'm going to a conference with the other dean (who is an awesome DC travel partner...former gov teacher). We'll be there for three nights, ALL costs covered. And no students, which means I can actually have some fun adult time.
Now I need somewhere to stay. The conference hotel is sold out one of the nights and I don't want to switch hotels. It's at the Renaissance right on Mt. Vernon Square. Thoughts? I know there's a bunch of options nearby, but really, we could take the Metro in if there's somewhere a little further that is nice. Frankly, if I'm staying on someone else's dime, I'd like something a little nicer.

The Kimpton hotels are all nice, and fun places to stay, and not too expensive if you have a budget to work with.

Definitely. Hotel Monaco is just one Metro stop away and it's in a great location- easy to walk to the mall, with lots of restaurants and nightlife.
