When we were watching the show and Geillis is kind of questioning Claire and gets annoyed when Jamie interrupts it. DH says "oh so Dougal probably asked her to get information out of claire"
I was all "Maaaayyyyyyyybeeeeeee" I seriously suck at not spoiling things
It's so shocking the first time! And now in the show, I think they make it pretty obvious, but maybe only if you know where it's going.
I was wondering this. I don't think it is that obvious in the show. I think Geillies is creepy as hell in the show. But I don't think they have hinted at that being the reason why.

Yes. I would not be friends with her. She's really freaking creepy.

Yeah, I don't think that they've given away her big plot twist, but she's coming across way more sinister in the show than she was in the book.

I dunno - she was pretty sinister in the book. The whole interrogation was eerie. And she was always warning Claire about the dangers of having snagged the "young fox"

I saw the episode where she was telling Claire that when she arrived in Cransmuir with nothing but her plant knowledge and found and married a man with a decent income, I felt like she was definitely hinting to Claire the possibility that she was also a time a traveler. I didn't read the book until watching the first few episodes but I was not all that surprised when she had the smallpox scar.
What I want to know about is the part in the book where she asks Claire if she loves Jamie and then says "so it is possible." What does it mean???

I think she means love? I don't know that Geillis has ever loved anyone other than herself. People exist for her use and disposal.

That has been the hardest thing for a friend and I who have read the books to not spoil for friends who haven't when we watch. People are starting to catch on, and it's hard to neither confirm nor deny.

The same is true of GoT, I think. I can see things coming a mile away that are TOTAL SHOCKS to DH, who hasn't read the books

Oh god the red wedding. I just sat and watched DH watch the tv. He is so even keeled it was a wasted effort. He raised his eyebrows a out half an inch and said "wow"

I read the first few books a while ago and had forgotten this twist. I definitely don't feel like they are making it too obvious in the show because the possibility hadn't occurred to me. Then again, I am not really known for being observant. lol
One of my friends has decided to recreate the wedding night dinner, from the Outlander Kitchen blog. So we're having roast beef, fresh bread, and red wine while we watch. We're such dorks, lol.
I'm making apple pie since we're apple picking that morning, so it's the awesomeness of fall and Outlander together.
