I'm having trouble finding cozy winter PJs in 12 mos + that aren't flame resistant - I didn't have trouble last winter, but it seems like after 9 mos, most fleece is flame resistant. We love our Hannas, but there are some nights where he needs something warmer for sleep.
Any recs? I admittedly haven't looked super hard yet, but Target, Costco, Carters and Old Navy have all failed me.

All children's pajamas has to meet flammability standards either by being a synthetic fiber that doesn't spread fire easily (polyester fleece or knit) or being tight fitting (which are almost always cotton). The only other option is to use clothing non designed as sleepwear, like sweatshirts and sweatpants.

M just wears the regular cotton ones from Carters with socks. When he was still wearing onesies I sometimes layered one underneath. (I prefer to avoid the treated fabrics too)
I will admit our energy bills are higher since he was born, we keep the house warmer than we used to.
Hmm, I'm almost positive our microfleece pjs from Carters are not flame resistant, or if they are it wasn't on the tag.
ETA I just saw this on their FAQ page:
We design our children’s sleepwear with a combination of fabrics and fits that do not require treatment with harsh chemicals to prevent flammability.
Carter’s polyester sleepwear is naturally flame resistant, while our 100% cotton sleepwear is tight fitting, and therefore does not require additional fabric treatment. All Carter’s sleepwear products are clearly labeled as “sleepwear.” Only garments labeled as such should be considered sleepwear.
All of our sleepwear products are created with children’s safety, health, and comfort in mind, and meet Consumer Product Safety Commission requirements.
Interesting - they all say flame resistant on the label (at least the ones I've looked at), and I assumed it was chemically treated.

I'm aware of this - I just want one that's not chemically treated. Most of the fleece I've found says "flame resistant" on it, which I assume to mean chemically treated.
OP, I don't like flame-resistant PJs either. Yes @notquiteblushing, b/c of the chemicals that are sprayed onto them. DS wears Carter's snug-fit cotton PJs and a fleece sleep sack. He is 2.5, and in the biggest sleep sack Halo makes. After we transition him to a toddler bed, he'll have a warm blanket instead of the sleep sack.
Should I want my toddler to catch on fire? We just wear Carters mostly but please clue me in. Chemicals?
There's some question over just how safe/healthy the flame retardent chemicals are. PJs from otton knit usually have a big "not treated, should be snug fitting" label on it. When he was smaller, we used the fleece "sleep and plays", and they were never marked as flame resistant (I assume because they weren't truly pajamas, so didn't legally need to be).
Any chance he would handle a blanket? I've been surprised at how well E keeps a blanket on her. Although some nights we do put on socks if we think it will be chilly.

He wiggles around too much. I did try a blanket a couple of times and he likes to toss it out of the crib - we do still use a sleepsack, but sometimes I feel like he needs fleece jammies under the sleepsack. His room for some reason gets the chilliest, and I hate having to heat the whole house to 70* just to keep his above 65*. The joys of an old house!

halfpint - What if you layer him in two sets of the cotton pjs on the really cold nights?
@mrswindycity - are these the microfleece pjs you have? They are listed as "flame resistant" but other sets (cotton) specifically say "must be snug fitting, not flame resistant".
halfpint, do you want a couple 12-18m size Swaddle Designs warm sleep sacks? I am finally going through E's outgrown stuff and have two of those, one kiwi and one light blue. Would probably ask $25 shipped for both.

Yeah, probably! Are they the microplush? Or what's the material?

Also, if you post anything else on B/S/T, please to tag me. Thank you.

We had this problem in our old house, since DS's room had 4 large single pain windows, and our room had 2. We solved it by putting a metal plate over most of the vent in our room in the winter, and putting it mostly over the vent in DS's room in the summer. We used a metal candy mold because that was what we had and it was heavy enough not to move easily, but you could use a wooden box or anything heavy.

Slightly off topic....am I the only person on earth that buys my son's sleepwear non-snug fitting? If he's in 24 mo sizes, I buy 2t or 3t so that I don't have to squeeze his body into his pajamas. I figure it's okay, because I only use tea light candles in his bedroom.
