I have two cats & I use a Mint automatic sweeper with dry mop pads a couple times a week. it picks up the hair and kinda pushes the litter to the baseboard where I vacuum it once a week
I like the Method almond wood cleaner - I use it with a microfiber pad.
I use a cordless stick vac daily and also a shark steamer EOD or every 2.
Tell me about the steamer, please. I've heard mixed things. They have washable pads, right? Does it actually attract and clean up dirt/dust/particles?
It's definitely good to vacuum first but the steamer will definitely attract leftover hair/dust/etc.
It takes regular water and also have a bottle of cleaning solution attached that can spray with the click of the button. I only use the cleaner in really rate occasion because the steam seems to break down any grime.
I love it. It doesn't quote the floor. It doesn't make it feel sticky, just clean.
I got mine at bed bath and used a coupon. You could try it and if you didn't like it, simply return it.
My floor was always covered with cat hair and cat litter. It was so gross that it was driving me nuts!
Solution 1: I embraced East Asian culture and bought some "room shoes" (sleek house slippers) to keep at the entry and wear around the apartment so I (and guests) wouldn't get stuff all over our socks.
Solution 2: I bought a robot vacuum cleaner (off a friend). It's set to run once a day while I'm at work. It doesn't do corners or tight spaces, but the baseline is much more tolerable until I have the chance to do some proper vacuuming and/or mopping. Frankly, I'm amazed at the difference, since I can walk through the main living spaces with minimal crap under foot.
The only downside is that it's like having another cat. A lot of days I come home and find the robot vacuum hiding under the bed (it was getting caught on a power cord) or next to the litter box (I have a thick rubber door mat around the litter box to reduce tracking). Last week I came home to find that the robot vacuum had gorged itself on cat food and passed out:

I'm glad I'm not alone with this issue. LOL at the robot gorging on cat food! Growing up in a multi level house, we never had this issue because the litter boxes were in the basement. It's really a pain I the ass. I never considered the robot vac because they're pricey and don't get around a lot of stuff.

I have always wanted to get a roomba - mostly because I want my cat to be like Shark Cat -- but I know I would just be setting myself up for disappointment
