Hi,
I feel incredibly shy about doing this but I feel like I should. I've been lurking around and posting enough. I started posting on the Knot in 2004 and followed the migration over here.
I find myself alone in a cabin in Maine tonight and I've consumed four beers so I've got a good buzz going so it seemed like a good time.
I am an aging hippie chick, a raging liberal. A Deadhead and a freak for all animals, especially dogs. I love books and photography and TV too. Especially Game of Thrones and now Outlander. Also It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
You all are really funny and quick witted so after lurking on various boards this was the one I always came back to.
I am so jealous that you are just starting it. I LOVED that series and went through a bunch of the books without even a break in between. Usually I read a different book before starting the next one in a series but not with Outlander.
I am a librarian and books are a love of mine. You're in for a treat!
Damn. Don't scary murder movies start off in cabins? While the woman is alone?
Welcome anyway? Lol
Haha! Yes they do! I have been up here alone a lot and even though I have my two dogs, I can't help but scare myself sometimes. My guy friend that I chatted with on the phone while driving up today asked me if I had any form of protection and I had to say no.
Me too! I got here tonight and I finished getting the car unpacked and finally went down to the dock with a beer, and I just felt like all was right with the world. There could be no better place to be...
My drink of choice is definitely champagne. And, to be budget conscious, cheap champagne is just fine. I also like beer and white wine.
Most beautiful place is tough. I have a strong attachment to Maine, as mentioned previously. I used to live in San Francisco and Santa Cruz and I think parts of the California coast are absolutely stunning.
I also have a strong pull to Italy (don't know why) and I've been there a few times. I have always wanted to go to New Zealand and feel like if I went maybe I would think it was the most beautiful.

Aging?
We need more olds on this board. Right now it's just me, @cse1960, flexQueen Dick, Hibernating Bear and some others who think they're old but I don't want to call them old.
Im currently listening to Fleetwood Mac on my iPad.

Welcome to ML!
Yes, I am in my late 40s. On my drive today I listened to the Beatles, CSN, Dylan, etc. My musical tastes are definitely stuck in the 60s, maybe 70s.
My last concert was Steely Dan, before that was CSN, and in the next couple of months I am seeing Dylan and a Grateful Dead tribute band.

I was a big Deadhead back in the day...
I just turned 46.
At he Beatles are THE BEST. I've turned my grandchildren on to them. That, and the Bugs Bunny cartoons where Daffy gets his face shot off several times. lol.

I love Al Forno the most. But I haven't eaten at a ton of different ones. And because it is so pricey I don't go there all that often.
What is your favorite? I need to find some new ones.
I LOVE Indian food so I also love India!
I love Siena for Italian and Lims in Wayland Sq for Thai and Sandwich Hut on N Main for grinders. I like sitting outside at India, but I think Rasoi's (right around the corner from India) food is soooo much better.
Welcome!
Thanks! I just went to Siena with my parents for my birthday this summer. I think I also went to Rasoi's this summer. Is that in the parking lot area down from India, where LJ's was? So SAD that LJ's closed! If that is the place it was great! We went there after a PawSox game.

I really agree...the Beatles still are the best. I got married in 2004 (am divorced now) but we named all of our tables after Beatles albums and our first dance was to a Beatles song.
