when do you find you O in relation to when you get a positive OPK?
I don't temp (I sleep really hot and oftentimes wake up a lot at night), but I use the CBE OPK's every month and have been since cycle 2 (I'm on cycle 11). we have sex every month when I get a + (usually 2 days in a row) and have been unsuccessful. and I usually get the associated ovulation pains at the same time. but I'm wondering if I actually O after I get a positive OPK. we do have sex after a +, but we aren't as consistent about it. but I still feel like if we're having sex the day before I O, then I should still be able to get pregnant.
just wondering what everyone else's experience is.

the positive OPKs mean your body has the hormone surge related to ovulation, NOT that you actually O'd. so when you get a positive test, you haven't actually O'd yet.
for me, when i get a positive, i don't O until the next day, sometimes the day after.
I have used OPKs and temped together for two months. My first month I had two +OPKs, which I assumed was once on the way up and once on the way down. I O'd sometime on the day of the second positive. My second month, I had an extremely +OPK (I swear it was darker than the first months'), and then I O'd sometime that day of the positive. Don't they say that you O within 12-36 hours of a +OPK? While you haven't been temping, have you been keeping track of when you get a +OPK? Has the cycle day been consistent cycle to cycle? FF says to do some BDing from three days before ovulation to one day afterward in order to have some little swimmers waiting for the egg when you ovulate.
I have PCOS and rarely O on my own. I have however managed to catch 4 ovulatory cycles in all my time of temping.
1. Opk + on cd 20, FF says O on cd 21 2. Opk + on cd 19 and 20, O on cd 20 according to FF 3. Opk + on cd 24 and 25, O on cd 25 according to FF
4. On Clomid. Opk + on cd 21 and 22, FF says O already cd 21. I'm not sure I agree since I also still had ewcm on cd 22.
Generally yes you are supposed to O after a positive opk. I think the instructions say something like 12-36 (or was it 48?) hours after first positive.
