Last night I made pizza for dinner, and it was "homemade" (bought the crust, but I cooked the meat and assembled it myself!). My BF was like "wow this pizza is great, where is it from?". He was really impressed when I said I made it and it wasn't "from" anywhere.
Clearly, I have been slacking off on cooking since we've been together, lol. I have gotten SO lazy about buying pre-made stuff instead of putting it together myself. No wonder I've gained weight
My random: I am absolutely furious at my engagement ring right now. It "broke" (I don't know how best to describe it) earlier this year, we took it to the jewelers in May, they "fixed" it an now it is broke again. I have been engaged since December 2005 (same ring), so it just ANNOYS me that it's breaking now and that I have bad feelings towards my pretty ring.
I have to call the jeweler today and find out next steps (obviously they need to fix again FOR REALS).
Today is our company's benefits fair. This means that they will have people from the massage school to give 10 minute backrubs (also to try to build up clientele, advertise, blah blah blah). My entire September is hinged on the happiness I will experience at 11 AM
I'm spent this rainy morning messing around with our budget spreadsheet, trying to figure out the long term ramifications of H's new job (22% raise) and me going part time (40% pay cut). MM prepare yourself for a slew of questions!
DH got his annual birthday card in the mail from work. He can take it to work and exchange it for a free lunch at the hospital cafeteria. Um, yay?! They give the same thing every year (though this year it is on fancy paper with balloons on it) and every year we laugh. I think he should live on the edge and take two jello cups. You know, since it is his birthday and all.

I just toured a gym and am debating whether or not to join. I am mentally ready to get in shape but am so comfortable in my laziness. Plus fall tv is about to start.

Does the gym have treadmills with personal TVs? If the shows you watch can be viewed there, then sign up and even if you just go walk slowly on a treadmill while watching TV, that's better than sitting on your butt. I downloaded all 5 seasons of Breaking Bad onto my iPad and would watch 1-2 episodes while doing the elliptical. I'm sure the people behind me loved all the blood and guts that came in the later seasons, but it was a really good way to pass the time.
The gym had a bunch of tvs mounted on the wall across from the treadmills and I guess you bring headphones to plug in and listen to a tv. But I have a treadmill and tv at home and it is covered in dust.
I was more interested in group classes and maybe a personal trainer to get started. This gym is uber convenient and has childcare.
But I don't know. I've never joined a gym and am scared. I would hate to waste money.
Maybe I will start a new thread instead of rambling on about my excuses!
I did my first big couponing trip in a long time and I forgot how much I love the thrill of getting stuff for cheap. I also got a bunch of baby wipes to give to my sister for more than half price.
My poor Honda Accord must have a a giant "Hit Me" sign on it's back bumper. H found a rubber mark along the back bumper last night when we were washing the cars. We already had to have the bumper replaced earlier this year when someone hit and ran and left a 1ft long crack. At least this time there's no crack so we'll just leave it but damn people!
I saw the hematologist today. First, my blood levels are normal. Woohoo! And most importantly, he is writing me a letter for my employer saying that due to my increased risk of thrombosis, I need to have extra leg room when I fly for longer than 2 hours. So it's first/business class that work will pay for.
ETA: And he cleared me to get pregnant. I will likely have to give myself shots of lovenox, but I'm totally okay with that.

Dude, I want a doctor's note saying I have to fly business/first!!! LOL that you put "most importantly" in front of the flight stuff and not the health stuff
Good luck with trying for a pregnancy, too. Sounds like we'll have lots of announcements in the months ahead!
I knew the health stuff was going to come back normal, because my levels were slightly below normal at the last visit, and I've been taking my meds consistently. The letter was the only thing in question really.
Thanks for the kind thoughts, but no pregnancy announcements from me for a while. We have to go through IVF, so we are just starting the process. Well, we'll be starting once I get my IUD removed.
Just got back from the dermatologist. Diagnosis: Acne and my first age spots (unrelated to how much SPF I use, just straight "age spots"). It's a cruel universe that makes me have both in my 30s.
Update: The massage was fucking magical, my favorite running store was at the benefits fair and I got a coupon, there was no waiting at the bloodmobile (free cupcake!), and DH call to tell me he finally stop dragging his feet and turned in his application for a job he has talked about pursuing for a while

I'm so annoyed with myself. Whenever I make a long drive (4+ hours) by myself, I like to buy 1 powerball ticket. Some of you probably think that's a waste of $2, but I consider it $2 worth of entertainment because I think about what I'd do with the money while I drive.
I'm heading home tonight from a continuing education course. I stopped for gas and asked to buy a ticket. She said they only sell them out of machines now. I didn't notice that the machine doesn't give change until after I put $20 in. So now I have $20 worth of powerball tickets. Not worth it.

Less than 30 minutes to my annual eval. It should have been back in June, but the office is insanely busy right now...
Good luck!
Thanks!
All done. Got some good feedback. Seems I've blown away my boss with my willingness to work wacky, wacky hours while here in Korea... (along with just generally meeting or exceeding other expectations).
Got a raise! It's even a teeny bit bigger than I had expected (a half percent more than expected). It takes my hourly rate to just over the next round number, though, so I think it's very spiffy.
