Lol. Nice title, huh?
Yesterday I was outlet shopping with the kids when it was diaper changing time. The only changing station in the restroom was in the handicapped stall, so I wheel the double stroller in there and start getting it done. Natalie is really afraid of the automatic hand dryers. We heard a couple when we were in there and she was really upset. She kept talking about them as I was packing the diaper bag back up and I hadn't heard anyone else come in the restroom so I told her that I know the dryers made a loud noise and were scary to her but they were all done and we were going to be leaving soon. As soon as I finished my sentence I heard a toilet flush. I'm thinking oh great, I shouldn't have told her they were done because she's about to be scared again, and trying to get everything together and get out of there fast.
The lady who got out of the stall washed her hands, and then just walked right out. There were no paper towels in there, so she either shares my child's fear of hand dryers, enjoys wet pants, or did it just to be nice and spare my kid of her freak out session. I am going with the latter. I thought that was really nice, and it definitely lifted my spirits after earlier that day trying to simultaneously hold open a door and push the stroller through it while a girl stood directly in front of me texting. *-)
Oh, that's nice. I remember when Abby was freaked out by those, and more than a few times, we would be talking about it in the restroom and people would just go right ahead and use it. Like they didn't notice the little girl standing next to me at the sink, crying about the "loud noise."

That was nice! My kids stand with their hands over their ears most of the time when we are in a restroom because of the dryers. I carry small post-its so I can cover the sensor and stop the automatic flushing of the toilet in the stall we are in, but there isn't much I can do to stop the dryers.

That is awesome!!! My kids are also really petrified of them and are very vocal about it. People usually continue to dry their hands. I swear one woman did it EXTRA time just to torture them.

I just have to say I highly doubt anyone is using the hand driers on purpose. I would never realize if a kid was crying about that. I tune out all crying/whining outside of my own kid.

That said, that was really nice of that woman!
This. I try to pay as little attention to other people's children as humanly possible.

Same here.
My kid is the oddball who loves those. "Loud, mommy, loud!"
