I applaud anyone who makes even a half decent attempt at spelling or pronouncing my name.
Yep. I've always had to spell it for people and repeat the pronunciation, so it'd take too much energy to get worked up about it, or even at the way other people spell/pronounce similar versions of my name.
If you spell Jennifer in any other way, you have issues.
I know three different people who spell it with only one n and get indignant when it is spelled with two- like everyone is supposed to know your name is spelled wrong.
Um, isn't Lar-en spelled like "Laren?" I actually knew a girl in school named Laren. Lauren has a U... Therefore, it's Lor-en. I think you pronounce your name wrong.
I have two first names, but both are extremely common. Someone's parents would have to have purposely gone for "youneek" if they spelled either one differently.
I know two other regular 'ol Americans with the same name! One is only like 9 too.
My name is Maria, so not too many butchered spellings, but I get the mistaken "Marie," quite often. My grandmother was "Maria" and went by "Marie," so my cousins on that side are the worst offenders.
I feel like the way my name is spelled is the only RIGHT spelling. It's Lindsey with an E not an A, damnit! And if there's a Z in there anywhere, you can just fuck right off.
Oh man this one is getting out of control. I am a teacher and have had a Lynsey, Lynsay, and a Linzi in the past few years. Lindsey is the ONLY WAY.

You know what else is annoying? People who can't pick which name they want to go by. I'm part of a PTA and there is a woman who introduced herself to me as Peg. I was talking about her to another member, who was looking kind of confused, and she finally said, "Do you mean Margaret?" Um, I guess. Pick a name and stick with it!

Yes. Most people get my last name wrong somehow, but I get a lot of misspellings of my name. I get Tiffane/Tifane, Tiffaney, Tiffani, Tiffini. Stephanie. Dude. Tiffany is NOT that hard to spell or say.
H claims he met a Tiffane (pronounced to rhyme with pane) once at a conference and it blew. my. mind.
Here's a new one - I know a Tiffney. I can't imagine how many times she has had to spell her name for people.
I do. My nickname is Katy, I notice when people spell it with a -y (the WRONG WAY) and not an -ie.
FTFY
I am an -ie which I always assumed was more common (never met anyone in real life that uses a y and there was a TON of Katies growing up) but when people write my name they put a y or i instead of an ie more often then not.
Me too. However, I always thought it was a difference between Katherine and Kathryn, hence Katie vs Katy.

No. There are so many legit varieties of my name (close cousin names, shall we say), that I don't notice the of-the-wall misspellings. That being said, I've always felt an affinity for people who share any variety of my name.
