So I've been dyeing my hair with Sally's ion color brilliance permanent creme level seven a medium ash blonde. I'm hoping to go a level warmer for fall/ winter. If I do, will I be able to go back to the 7a without any lighteners?
Also, is the Ion color brand good? The gals at my Sally's don't seem particularly knowledgeable.
I used a 7N and it turned out perfect. Warmed up just enough for a change but not so much that it felt super dark. Thanks ladies. Y'all saved my hair today

You don't change levels unless you want a lighter or darker shade. Just use a gold formula at the same level. 7G instead of "ash" 7A. It would still look best if it was foiled in, though. Much more natural and gradual.
If you are going to do an all over warmer tone, you should mix it with a neutral toned base. For example, if you just put a 7g over your 7a your regrowth area will be much more gold than your ends. Also, a gold over ash has potential to turn out green/gray-ish (you're putting a yellow base over a blue base). I know nothing about Ion brand color, but I'd look to see if they have a warm natural tone (7wn).
Really though, you should see a professional to avoid any mistakes. Good luck!
