So, we're moving in October and the new house has an entire extra living room over the current house, so I'm going to have to buy lots of furniture to fill it. I really want a vintage Lane surfboard coffee table. Found a pretty good looking one on Craigslist.
My husband went to pick it up. He's pickier than me so I figured if it didn't look good, he wouldn't take it home. So he gets it home and he's all pissed off because he didn't noticed until he put it in the car that the support under it was split in two. I'm like, OK, whatever, it was only $60 so we can deal.
He freaks out and immediately figures he can just take this support out. Puts it down on our (96 year old wood floor) and tries to unscrew it. Wouldn't budge. So he screws it back on and SCREWS IT INTO OUR 96 YEAR OLD WOOD FLOOR.
So, now we have a shitty Lane coffee table with a hole in the surface and also a hole in our floor.
It is National Preparedness Month so I am making our Disaster Binder this weekend with copies of all of our important papers and information. Yup, prepper dork here.
And if you are interested there is a whole Gov website. www.ready.gov/

I've been working late the last couple nights and just this morning realized I sent work product to a partner without proofreading it. At all. *fingers crossed that there aren't too many typos*
Meanwhile, bf (who works from home) has been doing everything around the apartment. Any ideas on how I can show my appreciation?

If there's any national whatever month this board can get behind, it would be this.

Someone just called the office from Heriot Watt Uni in Edinburgh Scotland, since we proctor a distance learning exam and apparently didn't get the request email (probably due to campus power outage this week). Unfortunately we didn't get to discuss the independence vote, but he had a lovely strong brogue (especially for Edinburgh) and it has totally made my day (I may or may not be dancing in my office)!

My H ran 18 miles this morning, so he slept on the couch as he had to get up really early. It was the best night's sleep I've had in a loooong time.
You know, my H always falls asleep on the sofa and it's always a battle to get him to go to bed. I don't know why I fight him on it. I sleep so much better when I got to bed first. Especially when he comes to bed a few hours after I go. I need to remember these things.

Honestly, I prefer he just stay downstairs. It tends to wake me up, and then I can't go back to sleep. Or worse, he'll realize I've woken up, and then attempt sex. Uh, no. I'm only up, because you woke me up. Get off of me.

I missed what came before it, but The View just gave a female anatomy lesson, complete with a digital graphic and discussed their respective sex education growing up. It was, um, interesting.
Has he gone to the doctor yet? I know you mentioned him going, but wasn't sure if he had. I hope he feels better soon.
Yeah, he went on Monday. He has bronchitis. Despite the z-pac, the inhaler, and the cough medicine with codeine, he's still feeling shitty. Or so he claims. No, I'm sure he's not faking, but why are men so fucking weak?!?
Somebody had a talk with MH. Or he read some shit. Or something. After rather a long dryish spell due in large part to my lack of drive, but seriously made worse by his shitass attitude and complete inattention to detail, I think we're back in business. I'm looking forward to going home tonight.

Yeah, sometimes the z-pac doesn't always work, at least for me, when I get bronchitis. He may need something stronger.
I've also been given a five-day steroid pack at times, and honestly, that seems to help the most above all else.

It's been a shitty day already. Meh, might as well share, in avoiding what I thought would me getting rear ended I rubbed up against the person's back bumper in front of me. It was all very civilized, there's no damage to the woman's car but I have some lovely scratches.
In better news, one week from today I'll be hangin' with emilyj.
If anyone is keeping track, I got a speeding ticket last month and this month I got into an accident. I was having a very good driving stretch for many years. Boooooooo!

Sorry, he's not better yet.
Hmm. The doc said to call back if he doesn't feel better "in a few days". I was thinking Monday, but maybe he should call today.

and I thought the z-pac WAS the strong stuff...?
It's okay, but it's not the strongest, just typically the first line of defense. If it had been less time, it could be that it's viral and that's why it's not working, but for this long, it's likely to be bacterial. Hey just may not have found the right one yet.

It's wedding weekend! The rehearsal is tonight and I've got a bangin outfit picked out. All I have to do us figure out my makeup to go with. I'm currently dyeing my hair. It's gonna be awesome tonight. Delicious Mexican martinis. No children. Seeing old friends from high school and college. Yay!
