Takeaway quote: "Save money by ordering the "poor man's Big Mac": A McDouble with special sauce, lettuce, pickle and no ketchup or mustard. They're about $2 cheaper, but without the weird bun."
@booby
I fancy myself a McDonald's expert (they notice when I don't have my dog in the car) and my McDonalds charges 35 cents to add lettuce to the McDouble, but does not charge extra for the Mac sauce.

mofongo - It's not, but it is my lot in life. I knew about my pizza guy's retirement plans and he noticed when I painted my front door. I have a problem, a delicious problem!
Wait what? I never even thought of asking for the Big Mac sauce on my double cheeseburger. I usually get the double cheeseburger mini meal. I used to love Big Macs but then the patties got super thin and I can't really taste the awesomeness of old. Well, now I know I can have my fake Big Mac!
McDonald's Tip of the Day: The Big Mac is always so messy and easily falls apart when trying to eat it. If you turn it upside down (top bun on bottom and bottom bun on top), it will not fall apart. I promise.

I've been getting the double cheeseburger like that forever now because it's a good chunk less and just as yummy. My brother and I nicknamed it the MacDouble and any time I'm hungry he suggests one, haha.

Like, just turn it upside down or switch the top and bottom buns?

Turn it upside down , no switching of the buns necessary.

I thought of all you people when I passed a McDonalds yesterday.
(And by passed, I meant when I went thru drive-thru and got a cheeseburger. Okay, two cheeseburgers. I did not have the guts to add the Mac sauce. But I should have.)
I don't get the round egg thing. They are ALWAYS round, no?
I've never had a square egg, either. I love McMuffins, and the eggs are definitely round, and they have delineations between the white and the (completely cooked) yolk.

The McGriddles come with an awful folded omelette thing.

The folded eggs are also on the bagel sandwiches. I don't know why I never realized there was a difference. I am not much of a mcmuffin eater so maybe that's why.
I have never had Big Mac sauce- I've been a vegetarian for most of my life. Does anyone know if I can get a side of the sauce with fries or lettuce or something? I'm so intrigued!

Ok, so I just watched the video. The sandwiches here all come with a "round egg". Except maybe the mcgriddle? Never had one but H sometimes eats it and I think I remember seeing a liquid egg in there.
I'm like two hours away from you. The McGriddles are definitely the icky eggs. I had the round one substituted on mine just this morning, in fact. Your McD's thread trend is either going to be the best or worst thing this pregnancy.
Ok, am I the only one side eye-ing putting McDonald's workers, probably making min wage, through this crazy order to save $2? I can see "hold the onions" or something, but c'mon
FFS
Whats the difference between adding ketchup or adding Mac sauce?

It's my understanding that the sauce is thousand island dressing.
