MIL & SFIL are in another period of not getting along. Last night she said "I can never have any idea of my own or voice my own opinion because of course it's wrong or gets talked over.". I said "That sounds familiar" and she said "It's not just him, it's all men.". It took everything I had to not respond in a snarky fashion because there are several men in my life who are so not like this with their SO's.
I agreed to go shooting for a double date. My friend is very excited and she's not into guns, so that helps. But still. I'm going to be going to a gun range. :-\

I did this with pup guy and his family once. First and only time I'll do it. My body reacted by shaking uncontrollably. Emotionally I didn't feel terrible, but my body went nuts.

My flameful, I want a nap. I want a nap so badly I would consider whoring myself out for permission to sleep at work, not get in trouble, and still get paid.
Two of the three managers are out sick today. guess who the third manager is who is here.
Our efile system is on the fritz and I have no other paperwork to get through, and am basically waiting on action items for all my big projects... so I have very little to do today except answer emails, be bored, and yearn for cupcakes.
Oh and a few days ago I got a monster creme-filled cupcake from the grocery store across the street. They are new and gourmet and it was fucking amazing since I haven't had pure sugar like that in awhile. however, my body basically screamed at me. But I am thinking about getting another one tonight. nooooooooooo

Have you ever shot a gun before or been around guns?

Go with an open mind, you might enjoy it
That's my plan. I'm glad my friend will be there because I think it'll help me be more relaxed. Or less nervous.
When I told wedding guy her suggestion, he was excited and then immediately asked if it was something I wanted to do. I appreciate how respectful he is.

I actually enjoy going to shooting ranges.
I've never shot a gun. When I dated the border patrol agent he completely unloaded his gun and handed it to me to hold, briefly. It wasn't terrifying, but it was weird. That's the most interaction I've ever had with a gun.

The best I've got is that I spent $10 on lunch even though we're trying to avoid spending money on stuff like that. I needed a cheeseburger, though! Boring flameful.
I want to use paper plates for the rest of my life. There has to be some sort of trade off for water wasted vs paper, right? And I'm talking the thin ones that come in a package of a 1000. #forlife

ewwww this just made my hair stand up on my arms.
I have a thing with certain types of paper textures and the way they feel and those cheapo paper plates are one of them.

tiramisu, I think you'll enjoy it if you go into it relaxed. I actually love shooting guns. I have my own rifle but it lives in the safe at my parents house where it can be secure. It also has a separate trigger lock. When I first started shooting I always felt uneasy about it. I think of it now as an exercise in accuracy and physical control. I love shooting at cans and paper targets. I don't like shooting at the human shaped paper targets though.

I love shooting and I HATED the idea of guns up until a year ago. There's something really awesome about going with someone who is really knowledgeable to teach you how to handle things safely. Honestly, I was pretty anti-gun for most of my life and now I'm considering buying a hand gun.

It can be weird. I grew up around guns and hung out at gun ranges with my dad. I still find handling guns uncomfortable when I haven't done it in a long time.
Shooting can be very interesting, but I always disliked "human" targets. I stick to the simple bullseye ones.
Keep an open mind and use the smaller guns. I *think* you'll enjoy it, actually.

Here's another one that's more random than flameful (sorry).
DH has been interviewing for a job over the last few weeks and he found out today he didn't get it. He's frustrated, which I understand, but he is overreacting and it's making me crazy. Meanwhile, he's only working part time and I keep telling him that if he wants to make more money he should pick up more shifts. HELLO, EASY SOLUTION.

I will definitely not be shooting at anything approximating a human shape/target.
Period started today...a few days early. This impacts my sexing on Sunday. It also makes camping, with no running water and no planning on showering until Sunday, gross.
It's 4:40pm and I haven't showered yet today. I did get "dressed" (shorts and a tank) because I have Bob today and he needed to be walked. I have one more meeting at 5pm (who has 5pm meetings on a Friday you ask? My asshole clients!) and then I'll probably shower and put pjs back on...
