What do you do with them? I've never been apple picking before but it seems like a board fave. I'm going to try to go this weekend. I don't want to can anything, ever. I like cooking but I don't want to spend an entire day making 15 apple pies or something. Cut them and freeze them? Once you freeze them, what do you make with them later? I only ever eat apples fresh, but apple picking sounds fun.

Honestly? Stick them in the fridge, eat for a couple weeks, forget about them, throw them out when I open the produce drawer and find them 6 months later.

I made tons and tons of pureed apples when the girls were babies! I am thinking I'll make applesauce this year, and we usually make some caramel apples. Otherwise we all just eat them, everyone loves them so they go fast here.
We pick a certain kind of apple that isn't sold in stores and DH looooves them so he eats them all! (We share with family too) his mom usually makes a pie too.
I've had apples in the fridge for weeks and they were fine!
I made applesauce in the crockpot last time. I did get annoyed at how little applesauce was yielded in comparison the the amount of time spent peeling and coring... But I'm pretty lazy so work of any sort bothers me
