ETA: I've done *really* red and it's so much fun. It was interesting to see how people treated me differently. I got many comments and some people wanted to touch my hair.

I'd love to try a pixie cut but it would never work with my curls. Sigh.
I actually love my color and wouldn't change it for the world. Rich dark brown with red highlights. I love it so much that I'm not yet ready to dye my grays because I worry the overall color will look different from my natural color. I only want to dye it if it can look EXACTLY like my natural color.

for me, it's not being brave - - I'll do nearly anything to my hair. Love Pixy cuts. Did purple on the underside last summer (like drruth talked about)...
But my problems are these:
- when I went to get the purple (and I've had this issue before) the colorist bleached my hair as much as she thought was safe - - and it came out kind of a strawberry blonde color; they put the purple over that. Instead of the medium purple I wanted, it was a dark purple There's no way my hair will go any lighter than that, which makes dramatic color darn near impossible. Now that my hair is going slightly gray, I may well be able to do more, but if it's anything like my mother's, I'll be almost 70 before it's 50% gray.
- it's expensive. I'd have bright red hair all over, but I ain't paying $120/ every six weeks to a colorist.
Also, I have curly hair, so a lot of cuts I'd love I can't have. c'est la vie!
Stuff I love:
I've gone this short and loved it, but was too... whatever... to go in every six weeks for a cut to maintain it:
love; may be something I'd do, if a colorist could get my hair to lighten enough to make it work. I could do it with extensions (or something similar), but that runs into curly hair problems. AAAARGH):
love, but my hair's too curly:
this cut and color... but again with the curls and unbleachable hair:
I want to dye my hair any color, but I know that once I go gray I'll have to dye it all the time so I need to enjoy the easiness of my natural color for as long as possible.
Does that make sense? Probably not.
I'd LOVE to do a pixie cut, but I think I'm too chunky for it to look cute on me.
I'd love a pixie cut, but my face is really round and I'm afraid it would come off very... "middle school gym teacher," rather than "cute hollywood starlet."
I probably should have just gone all out and done purple streaks or something in college. It always seemed a little *too* daring. I pierced my eyebrow once, so really, I don't know why I thought that was beyond the line.
I usually go a more natural shade of red. Or lately, light auburn - similar to my natural color, just punching up the red a bit.

I'm seriously chunky, and did a Pixie. I think it worked for me:

Yours is precious! I need to just take the plunge one day.

you need somebody to give you a GOOD pixie. The one in my pic was well done. Later, I got a trim from somebody who didn't get it, and I looked like my mom. VERY middle school gym teacher.
Good pixies are chic. Good pixies are daring - - way shorter than you think you want them to be. That's the difference. ETA: the other secret of pulling off a pixie, I swear, is wearing huge dangly earrings pretty much all the time. It looks fantastic with short hair.
other ETA: Listen, if you have longer hair that you keep pulled back all the time (I'm saying this to you but I mean it generally), you're essentially giving the illusion of a pixie without actually having a pixie. You like that look, or you'd wear your hair down. GO FOR IT!
I've got a very blase attitude about daring hair. I live somewhere where it's NBD, and I don't have a conservative job (even when I had a job, it wasn't the type of environment where people would give me shit about cut or color)... and hair will always grow out. It's fixable.
I'd do my hair every color of the rainbow, but I'm too chickenshit to get a tattoo. Not because it'd hurt (whatever), but because I'm worried I'd hate it (much) later.
If I had straight hair I would love to do that. My hair is too curly for it. I actually get complimented on my hair a lot which is cool. I think it's my best feature.

I would love to have streaks of pink in some fun way. I'm brave enough to do it but my work dress code doesn't approve. Wish I had done more fun stuff with my hair when I was a student and could get away with it.
I'm not afraid of having a pixi cut. I'm afraid of having to go to the stylist ever 6-8 weeks to maintain it. That's the real reson I haven't done it. BTW, I haven't had a haircut since DECEMBER.

I have this same issue. I would love Michelle Williams' cut and color.

Honestly, I've done almost everything at this point. I've been platinum blonde and a pixy cut (hair straightened), super long curly & black, brown, red, maroon, shaved...I'm not sure I want to be blue or purple. Perhaps when I was younger it would have been cool.

I would do crazy color, like hot pink, purple, or blue. I love the look, but it would not go over well with my job, so I will just keep rotating through different shades of blonde.

I really want sisterlocks, but my hair doesn't grow in certain spots, so I'm not sure if I'll ever take the plunge, since they're so expensive to start.
Both of my sister's, well one now, have them. So pretty.

I've been going copper red for years now, but also did a light blonde (once with really dark lowlights). My current colour is pretty vibrant and gets a lot of comments.
I don't have the guts to go short though. I don't think I could make that sort of commitment.
When i backpacked around Europe I contemplated staying in Prague for a while. There were a lot of people with punk styles. I wanted a longer choppy pixy dyed royal blue (like the root color blue in Mominatrix's earlier pic) with fade-to-platinum tips.
If i could be brave I'd go with a pixie. But I have way too much neck right now.
