I ordered the Filmore crib and extra wide dresser from Pottery Barn Kids on September 2nd. I was 22w4d so plenty of time right? Well the order said the dresser would come right away but the crib was delayed till October. I'm due January 2nd so no biggie. I got an email saying the dresser will now arrive between Jan 15-Feb 4th. Wtf? Upon calling customer service I noticed the crib is now back ordered until Nov 6th and I didn't receive any notification about the delay.
The woman I spoke to said there's 114 dressers on back order, 77 are coming in late December, and the rest (including mine) are coming in Jan 4th so it'll take time to deliver after that. My parents are paying for the crib and dresser and I waited for a sale to save them $250 so there were lots of other people who ordered at that time.
WWYD? Would you cancel the order or wait? I really want solid wood furniture, particularly the dresser, so it can be used for years.

I would wait. L is still sleeping in our room at three months. But I get wanting to have it to get the nursery "done" before baby's arrival. If you love the furniture, though, I'd just sit tight. Can you talk to their customer service and see if they can get you in the early batch? Maybe others will cancel their orders and bump you up on the list!
Were you planning on using the crib immediately? Or did you plan on using a bassinet at first? If the latter, I'd probably be ok with a later delivery date, but I'd definitely be asking for an additional discount or free/discounted shipping for the inconvenience.
If you have something else like a bassinet or RNP for the beginning for your room that you were planning then I would wait and see what happens. PB kids told me my stuff was backordered for DS1 for a really long time and then literally appeared at my doorstep with no notification like 3 weeks later. I don't think the dates they give aren't very accurate. One day they were supposed to deliver from the design studio and some guys show up empty handed saying they were supposed to be picking UP not dropping off. It was such a cluster with them. But I will say I ordered my sons full size bed and dresser and we had zero issues. I guess it's hit it or miss?

If you have something else for baby to sleep in, arms reach RNP pack n play etc, I would wait. You can change baby on anything. Our pack n play has a bassinet level and a changing table feature.
I wouldn't worry about the crib. I would be annoyed about the dresser, especially if you were going to use it as a changing table. I like to be able to organize the baby clothes and everything ahead of time.
I ended up ordering the RH set because the more I looked at the set, the more I liked it for DS over the PBK one. Bonus- delivery will be scheduled for early October and no assembly required
I would personally wait. I would say you could looking at getting the similar crib from RH, but it looks like it's substantially more expensive even on sale...so I would probably just wait at this point

When the crib we had picked out was back ordered where we'd intended to buy it (Amazon), we googled the model name and found a few other sellers who had it in stock still, and just ordered from one of them. Kind of a bummer because we still have a lot of money in Amazin gift card from getting our tax refund that way, but we'll spend it eventually.
