Last Tuesday my organic chemistry professor assigned a lab project which requires we work with our lab partners. My partner and I divided the work and I kindly asked her if she can have her portion by Saturday (today) I would appreciate so I can add it to powerpoint portion of the project and she said that was okay. Well I haven't received her portion (via email) and its already 11:30pm. I know I might be acting anal about the timeframe and I understand she may have other schoolwork to do but we need to email our professor the powerpoints for review so we present Tuesday.
When do you think is an acceptable time I should email her and remind her? Or should I just wait?

Ugh I hated group projects in college/Grad school. I feel your pain.
I would probably e-mail mid-day tomorrow. Just something like, "Hey, just wondering if you had your portion done so I can add to the PP. I need to be able to get it reviewed by prof ASAP."

I'd just email her now. You don't have to be rude about it or anything, but you guys agreed on something & I think it is completely appropriate to follow up on it.
Well in that case I'd email her at midnight and say "Please update me about the status of the powerpoint. I would like to email it to our professor as we had previously agreed to have all portions complete by Saturday."
I just don't like to seem pushy I think I'm too nice of a person sometimes.
I think I'm going to email her now something "Hey X, Do you have your portion of the project completed? I recall we agreed that you would email me your complete portion by Saturday. I would appreciate if you can email it your earliest convenience as it needs to be emailed to Dr. X for review. -Lab partner"

I'd change "earliest convenience" to Sunday by noon.
Email sent, I took tacokick's suggestion and changed the deadline in the email. I hope she responds I did her portion just in case this happened. If I don't get word by Monday I will email the powerpoint and make sure to mention to my professor that my lab partner failed to do her part and I did the whole project myself.
She emailed me back rather quickly saying she didn't send her portion because she had to get a new battery for her laptop and will send me her portion in the morning. I don't know why she just couldn't just send her portion when she replied so it makes me think she doesn't have it done but that is only an assumption.

Glad she responded.
I'm assuming her telling you she had to get a new laptop battery means her computer was malfunctioning so that's why she doesn't have the presentation done yet.
It sucks working with a partner who doesn't communicate well. Hope it's smooth sailing from here on out and she sends you her portion tomorrow.

I hope she sends you her part this morning. I bet $1000000 that her work is not as good as what you did for her part, and you'll have a dilemma about what to submit.

LOL at the dead battery excuse. That sounds like an excuse one of my students would give for not having a paper done on time.
I would have done the same thing re: doing her part just in case. In fact, in Grad school, I did do that a few times because the partner I was assigned in one class absolutely sucked, rarely came to class, etc. I lit her up in our partner evaluation at the end of the semester.

Yep, her work isn't done yet. Hopefully she comes through but I would suggest that you start to think about having to do her part.
In college, I was part of a group with 3 other students. 3 of us worked out asses off and the other 1 never met with us or submitted any of his work. He was given ample opportunity but choose not to send anything in. Since I was in charge of putting the project together, I did his share so that it would be complete. Finally, he sent me his part (which still had a lot of finessing to do) at 11pm the night before it was due. Dude gave me 9 hours. By that point, I was already finished and told him so.
Of course, he complained to the prof but the rest of us stood firm that he didn't do any of the work and didn't communicate with us. In this course, the prof provided a grade and it was up to the group members to distribute the marks. If everyone participated equally, they would have all been given an equal share. The other group members felt I deserved more than they did so I ended up with my share and this guys share. I got double and the guy got nothing.
