I've done it, but wouldn't recommend it. Usually when I go darker, the color starts out a few shades darker than I'd expected and fades to a closer shade in a few days anyway. I would wait at least a week, maybe more depending on your hair's health before doing an all over color. Can you add some highlights to lighten it up instead?

This! It'll fade in a week! Plus give it time to rest before you try a different color. I agree on the hilights. Even just a few foils will make a huge difference in color depth. Give yourself a chance to get used to it.
Thanks. I knew it would fade a bit but the initial color is not what I was expecting. I may have typed too soon anyway because I'm straightening it now and I think I'm actually ok with it. I agree though that I may want to throw in a few highlights, but I think I'm going to skip the re-dye. I'll post a pic when I'm done.

I saw a product at the beauty supply store that can remove the hair dye, but it has to be applied within 24 hours of the treatment. Maybe you can check out that option as a last resort? good luck!
I like the color on you! That's probably close to my natural color--I'm highlighted. I've contemplated going a little darker and losing the highlights, but I don't have the nerve! I'm really scared of hair changes!!
I like that color. An old stylist once told me to wash my hair with Dawn dish soap which acts as a clarifier to get rid of excess color. Maybe try that? But I wouldn't dye it again.

I think the combo of highlights and lowlights is very flattering on you. Also, I haven't used Benefit for concealer but I second loving Benefit as a brand.
