What to wear? Interview for promotion

I have an interview next week for a promotion.  Multiple people from my department will be interviewing and it's our 2 supervisors, manager, and director that are interviewing us.  Generally it's nice pants and a blouse at work.  Would you go all out suit?  Just a little dressier than usual?

Definitely suit. It could set you apart from others and it can't hurt.

I have always worn a suit, even for an internal interview. I've gotten several compliments from hiring managers about my extra effort.

Manager would prefer if we should all show up in shorts and flip flops . I'll do the suit though. Thanks!

I wore a suit for my internal promotion interview. One of my interviewers commented on my extra step.

It wasn't a secret I had applied, so it was NBD to wear it to work.

I always wear a suit, or at least a very nice blazer/blouse/skirt combo.

I recently bought a suit for an internal promotion interview, but decided at the last minute (after altering the jacket) to wear the pants and blouse with a cardigan instead. First, it was full on summer in NOLA. Second, my interviewers might have been wearing a short sleeve button down, but most likely a polo and khaki's. Even though I typically wear a blouse and slacks, it was way over kill for them. Seemed to have gone over fine.

I would wear a business dress, wearing a cardigan during the rest of the day and putting on a suit jacket for the interview itself.

To me, it is an indication that you take the job seriously and are genuinely interested.
