200 per month, then 10 cents a text. I have a grandfathered AT&T plan that only costs $130/month for me and H with unlimited data for two smart phones and 200 texts each plus 700 shared minutes.

Unlimited but I have run into people lately who have no text plan. Just crazy. It's too easy to text. I can answer a text just about anywhere, but a call takes some planning.

I probably do 100 texts a day... I would have to take it back and think of how to fit all my words into one text and make it final so I get no reply back lol

It's not that easy to text if you have a flip phone

That's a great price on your plan though.
One nice hing on iPhone is that txts to other iPhones don't count. Those use iMessage. Also I use things like beejive to send messages using Google chat so I don't have to text.
I only recently switched to unlimited within the last month or so, but that came along with a plan I changed to. Before that I had 250 and I rarely even came close just because I use imessage and so do most of the people I text with.

Now it's unlimited. My old plan it was so high it might as well have been unlimited (plus about 50% of the people I text have iPhones, and iMessage doesn't count against texts).
Even so, I've never had incoming texts be charged against me. Just like incoming minutes normally don't count against you.
I get 500/ month. I've never gone over but I would say 90% of my texts are between me & H. If its more than a sentence or two,it's just easier to make a 5 minute phone call then a dozen text msgs back and forth.
When we had unlimited data, I paid for only 200 a month, since most texts I got were imessage anyway. When we moved over to a 6GB plan so we could use our phones as hotspots last year, my plan switched to unlimited. I didn't think I'd text more with that switch, but I do. I still probably only send 500 or so texts that aren't imessage.
I'll join you. I have never sent a text message in my life, unless you count the one I typed for my sister on her phone (since she was driving at the time) last month when I was visiting her.
I was on pay as you go b/c I never used it so I just went with the default on my calling plan, but was getting large amounts of texts for some person named Bonnie and got tired of paying for them. If I need to contact someone, I call or send an email. So I contacted the carrier and disabled it entirely. The only person I might consider texting on occasion, b/c he's nearly impossible to get hold of during the day, would be DH, but it's a moot point since he can't have a cell phone at work.
This is exactly why I have unlimited text!!! I'd MUCH rather text than call someone. I hate talking on the phone too. But I use my text ALL the time. Probably really only talk to DH and occasionally my parents on my phone.
We have unlimited talk and text. We use maybe 250 or 500 texts and like 30 minutes of talk, but Verizon doesn't seem to have a lower talk/text plan any more for those of us with data plans. Believe me, I've tried.
