Oh and this reminds me of the time my ex BIL dented their car in the driveway and wanted to take it to a parking lot to claim it was a hit and run by someone for the insurance $.
FIL told us we should get the insurance $ to fix a dent, but not bother with actually fixing the car when we had an accident. But my FIL is admittedly a bit of a derp and a douchebag.
All of the trucks I have seen have something on the back that says "stay back xxxx feet. Not responsible for broken windshields". I think it is 500 to 2000 feet--I can't exactly remember the distance. I wonder if that legitimately makes them not liable?
DH was following a truck once that kicked up a rock and damaged our windshield. He called the number on the back of the truck and was basically told they wouldn't do anything about it.

I got a discount at target yesterday. I went to one target and some ottomans were on sale from $59.99 to $17.48. I bought 3 but wanted more (for my classroom). I went to another target and they were in sale for $25. I talked to a manager and asked and he said they all price clearance stuff differently, I said ok thanks, then dh asked if I still wanted them and I said no. Manager said he could sell them to me for $17.48. He offered so I don't feel at all guilty.
"Fries with no salt" is an excellent way to get fries with employee spit.
I worked at several fast food chains in HS and college (including McDonald's) and not once did anyone spit into the fries someone ordered without salt, and it would have definitely been talked about among the line workers. So either I worked with the most stand-up fast food employees ever, or the fact that the fries are made in front of everyone with cameras all over the place kept them honest.
I think food tampering at fast food places is not nearly as rampant as people seem to think. I worked at Burger King and no one ever did anything like this. The food prep area is in the wide open and there are a lot of people around.

I've done the get to the front of the line in a long women's washroom lineup by announcing you are going to puke thing once. Then I actually ran in there and puked (Stupid West Edmonton Mall floaty fair rides).
Simular experience....I picked up an octoberfest beer and the price didn't come up at all. They asked me if I recalled the price, I said the correct price and the lady said just put it in for $5.
Wait, Target has beer in some places? I can't get out of that place for less than $100 as it is. If I could stock up on booze, too, I'd have to resort some unethical life hacks to pay the bill.

this isn't really unethical though, insurance covers dents- it's your car- you can either fix the dent or not. What you do with the insurance money after you get it is your choice. Provided your not committing insurance fraud to actually get the money.

I used to do the special order at Mc Donald's to get freshly made food as well. I also used to order my drinks with no ice to get more in the cup. That was a hundred years ago, before self-serve sodas.
These are the same people returning their patio furniture to Costco after summer is over.
Or big TVs after the Super Bowl.
We have always bought these tvs (the ones others return) and get great deals on them. Same thing with lawn movers. Lowes will have people buy them, use them and the right before the return window expires they return. Lowes sells them as 'open box' we get a good price plus they are full assembled and once even had a full tank of gas. I hate that other people do this because I think it is wrong but since they do it anyway I take advantage of it and buy the stuff they return for 50% off or more.

This isn't unethical though. You had an accident, your car was fucked up and you were compensated for it. What you choose to do with the money is your business.
I used some insurance money to fix a belt and some other shit that was wrong with my car not related to the accident once. I was poor and having a car that ran was more important than having a car without a totally jacked up bumper. I feel no guilt because I didn't go out looking to get hit so I could collect.

I guess --- ? I just assume that if I'm submitting an insurance claim to have a dent fixed, I should use the money for fixing the dent. It's moot anyway, my insurance company only pays the body shop directly so I couldn't have done what FIL suggested. Or his other alternative to get a really high quote and then take it to a cheaper place so we could pocket the difference.
I don't think this would really even bother the employees. They have to put up with a lot of assholes and unreasonable requests, I'm sure...this one is probably pretty far down on the list.
I've also worked a lot of fast food jobs. I wouldn't spit in your fries, but it is the most obnoxious request. We'd ensure that it took extra long for your food and depending on who was working grill, you'd get the oldest meat for your sandwich.
That's super awesome for people like my FIL with a heart condition and needs to ask for as little salt as possible.
I used to work at McDonalds, and we had people ask for fresh fries all the time. I take that over a no salt any day. If they order no salt we have to wash the scoop. If you just ask for fresh fries we simply waited for the next batch, no big deal. I also never saw anyone tamper with any food. We may have mumbled under our breaths but there was no spitting. Also, you don't have to do the special order to get fresh food anymore because they make everything as it's ordered.
Hailing a cab at a hotel (or any other high-cab traffic area) isn't unethical -- it is smart. But tip the doorman if he helps you out.
I have never paid for drugs even when it wasn't my first time. I have only done them in social situations where whoever had them was sharing with the group and nobody chipped in.
I've ordered no onions on a cheeseburger in the past at McD to get a fresh one. That was back in my meat eating days.
Other than that I'm life hack free.
At Burger King this will not get you a "fresh" burger, it only avoids gettign one that's been assembled. We kept a bunch of cooked burger patties in a steamer for special orders. IDK if McD's does similar.

At least this was true back in my day.
Yeah, we just kept the patties in a heater tray type thing, but we never preassembled the burgers.

I worked for a huge construction company and no matter what our trucks said, we'd replace windshields that were damaged by our vehicles. I saw a few reports come in, and the people were always taken care of.
yeah, I've been told that the company will cover the damage and they just put those stickers on so less people call.

We've had this done where I work for hail damage to travel trailers. If a trailer has hail damage, you submit the claim 99% of the time the trailer is totaled, then you take the money, don't fix it, pay off the loan (if there was one) and you can still sell your trailer for a profit. Nobody cares about hail damage that much.
I did this with my car earlier this year, it was great!
In college I signed up for that Columbia house CD thing where you got like 10 cd's for a penny. I ordered, got my 10 CDs then I was supposed to buy five more at full price in the next year. I used a fake name and had it sent to my college dorm. We all did that and had quite a collection. Its stealing and I knew and know that. I feel bad now as an adult.
