It's a shame bc I'd love to see how work life balance is for these families. How they save, what $ challenges they may face as far as goals, how they got there. What their short and long term goals are and what they are doing about it.
I used to think our work/balance was not the best but now, from reading these boards, I realize we have it pretty damn good! DH leaves the house at 8 am and is back by 6 pm every night. The pay is pretty good. He also works with a bunch of really nice, decent people. Considering the industry he is in, we know it could be a LOT worse. If only the winters here didn't suck so bad, lol.
That sounds like a great work life balance, especially considering that you have a high HHI. If you factor in total hours worked per family, HHI, and cost of living, I think you may win the MMM "winning at life" award.

Possibly but we have to live in a Rochester NY to get it, lol. It's beautiful here for a lot of the year and there are some fun things to do but. The winters. You don't want to be here Jan-March. I don't know how many people would be up for that!
That does sound kind of miserable. . Obviously there are upsides and downsides to every situation.
