"Let's see—I'm all for marijuana legalization and I'm all for un-bleeped, surprise swearing on live TV. This combination for me is sort of like the moment you discovered that Oreos go really, really well with milk. And yes, I also noticed that the last name of a marijuana legalization activist is Greene. This is more handiwork from the marijuana gods who I am convinced now are totally real."

That was funny as hell. That other reports face was priceless it reminded me of Chris Tuckers face after Kanyes " George Bush doesn't care about Black people"
Jezebel's report is funnier than the one Mashable posted. However the news reporter's name is not Charlo Greene - that was her TV persona, likely done as a TIC measure. I can't remember her real name but either the Mashable article mentions it or includes another video she had where she says it herself.
As amusing as all that is, I hope this works out for her because she ain't nevah getting back on air.
Remember the reporter who was cussing when that big flew in his mouth? Years later it's still funny.
See, I'm not even mad at him though. I mean what are you gonna doooooooooo?
But this chick? Is she gonna be a marijuana activist forever? She might get a few years down the road and want to return to reporting. Who is going to hire her?

She betta not go to NABJ next summer cause the black folk journalists I know have dragged her behind this unprofessional display.
So I totally get that from a professionalism standpoint, having to work twice as hard to get half the recognition, and all that.
And yeah, this was highly unprofessional.
But I still laughed my ass off. Probably because I so so SO wanted to walk out of my last job this way. So there's this little part off that just like, "Yes! That was for all of us!"
I like that she thinks anyone cares that she quit one job for another. I don't. I don't side eye her for that for a bit. What has me giving her the bitch please face is dropping f bombs and walking out like that. Grow the fuck up. Yes, I said fuck but see, I said it on a message board where that's the fucking standard. This heifer got up on damned television at a professional job talking smack and walking out.
What she should have done is said, "And this is why I've submitted my resignation." She would have gotten her point across while addressing the issue at hand without being a flaming idiot on television. I mean cute for her and all that but it's a dick move.

Its the sort of thing most people secretly want to do at one point or another. So our normal human reaction is to be all GO GIRL!!!!!! But really, just no. There is a reason 99% of us have better sense than to do this..and to do it on tape is even worse.
I don't think she submitted her resignation. I think they fired her shortly before going on air. Probably in relation to the story.
Thats what I took from it as well, given the "not that I have a choice" comment. Although I do not know much about this industry, it seems silly to fire someone and then put them on air.

I don't think she did either. I think she should have but yeah, I agree they probably fired her or heavily suggested that they would fire her if she aired the story as submitted.

If you're talking live tv like this, fuck yeah that's a terrible idea.
So if she was fired before going on air, whoever had her go on should also be fired.
My guess is that she doesn't care about a future in broadcasting. I mean, it's a highly competitive industry. If you get fired from a local station in Alaska, chances are you were never going to get an on-air job again. Like anyone at the station should be surprised she decided to go out in a blaze of glory.
