Has anyone written a character/friend reference letter. The person who asked me I adore. He is an older gentleman that was a manager at one of my very first real jobs. We've stayed in touch all these years and see each other once or twice a year. He retired a few years back and decided to go to seminary school which he just graduated from.
I have no religious affiliations, but he's asked me to write this character letter for him as part of his application package for a ministry job.

When I am stumped I usually just google sample reference letters and start from there. I think the first paragraph is usually how you know the person. Then the second be what about their character makes them special. Think about work experiences that really stand out.

When we asked for clarification I got this "It doesn't have to be long or complicated. Just let them know I am not a crook and pretty much ran a profitable operation."
lol guess I'm putting to much thought into this being the type of job he's going for. I had him as a manager and friend. He's compassionate and a great listener, I know that and I'm sure that's valuable in ministry.
