Hey Ladies --
I finally wrote the full recap of my 100 miler! At least the basic recap, I'll go into more detail on nutrition/coulda-woulda-shoulda/what's next in future posts, but it's all live here... runaroundaroo.com/2014/09/19/my-first-100-mile-ultra-rrr100/
THANK YOU all so much for the support, it was a long day but it was worth every painful step and I finished with a big ol' goofy grin on my face! All the haters can suck it!
(fun fact, one of the girls who was very "you need to respect the distance" DNF'ed just over half way through -- I know her comments were well intended and she was insanely supportive at the finish line, but still...)
So amazing! Your storytelling makes me itch to give it a shot. Congratulations!
This is why I write about it -- and why I'm weirdly glad it got a lot of FB/Twitter attention (yet still a little embarrassed by it all!)! I already had two friends sign up for race (one 100, one 50K) and it makes me SO happy!
I'm definitely not an expert but I have a brain you can pick when you scratch that itch!

Wow!! Amazing. I didn't realize you wouldn't stop to rest or sleep at all. I can barely wrap my head around your badass-ness!!
Yup...no naps!
I was most tired at night, like a normal person, however I knew if I stopped for more than a few minutes I'd get really cold...which could lead to many bad things like hypothermia and kill my race so I kept moving. Not always very fast but always with purpose!

Three friends.
Oooh -- right, and this one right here with a 50M!
I'm on a roll!
I did my best to smile at every damn AS just so you'd see how much fun it was!

How evil (and effective) of you.
For the record, there were never tears - not even on the course. I got close once, but it was a "holy shit, I'm going to do this!" moment, not misery that brought on the misty eyes!
