Sounds like a nice weekend Rock.
Saturday DH had an event, so DD and I hung out all day--hit the farmer's market, played in the back yard. We dropped off something at our friend's house and she invited us to stay for dinner. DD got to have "siblings" for a couple of hours, LOL.
Sunday I sold a crochet project to an acquaintance of mine, and we caught up over Starbucks. She already has a friend who wants me to make a pumpkin hat for her child. Maybe I can knit/crochet and quit my day job, LOL. I spent the evening cooking and prepping for the week. DD starts her first full day at Montessori today, she was so excited that she got to have lunch there and have TWO recesses!

I had a semi-relaxing weekend for a change.
Friday I took off and did some stuff around the house. We got a new washing machine and it is amazing. Friday night I went up to Lake Sunnapee with my sister and her boyfriend to spend the night before our trail race.
Saturday we ran a trail race, about 7 miles, called Lost a Lot, yeah a lot of people got lost, mainly the really fast people and a lot of people joined the extra mile (or three) club. We hung out with my sister's boyfriend's dad and sister who we crashed with the night before that afternoon and then headed back to MA. Pretty much just ate leftovers and watched some tv with DH.
Sunday did some errands, more laundry, and watched the Patriots game before going to my dad's for dinner.

I would not be OK with this, LOL. How frustrating!
Same here. They didn't seem to mind though. They caught back up to me at mile 2-3 and were like yeah we ran an extra few miles we missed some markers. I slowed way down and pretty much power hiked/lightly jogged the whole thing. I was scared that I was going to get lost pretty much the entire time. I think I'll stick to my road races, maybe some less technical trail races.
I took Friday off with DH and we spent it doing stuff around the house. I had also set up a bunch of appts for various projects to get priced out. We did go to the movies that afternoon and saw Maze Runner. It was ok, I've read the book and liked it much better.
Saturday was mostly spent making snacks for a food festival type party my friend was having that evening. I also spent a few hours at Kohl's helping my sister find an outfit for a bachelorette party that evening.
Sunday we had a wedding at noon which took up the whole day. It's my first Sunday wedding and I can't say I'm a fan. At least we looked good and the food was pretty decent.

At least the wedding was local, right?
What kind of house projects are looking to get done? I love seeing people's updates.
Yeah, the wedding was up near Bradford so that was a plus.
We need to get the basement repointed. We have a stone retaining wall outside that is falling down and needs to be rebuilt. We also have a few house painting projects. One is our main staircase/hallway that definitely needs to be done. We're considering getting the office repainted (it's an awesome shade of orange, like orange orange), the back stairwell and some crown molding in the dining room.
I haven't set up these appts yet, but we also need the flooring redone in the downstairs bathroom, we want the carpet replaced on the main stairway and most of the rooms with wood floors need to be refinished as they are in rough looking shape.
And the biggest project of all, which we totally cannot afford right now is to completely redo the kitchen. I'd love to have a new kitchen and I know it would add such major value to the house but it's not in the cards right now. As it is, we'll need to take a home equity loan out to do some of the above stuff (like the repointing totally needs to happen, we can't put it off any longer).
Ugh, this weekend SUCKED. We filmed a wedding on Saturday on the Cape, which meant we got up super early to drive there. Worked from noon to 10:30 (even though we were only contracted until 10 PM, DH is too nice and always stays late). We stayed over which was fine, but the next day we were both exhausted and the weather stunk. We drove around for a while trying to find something fun to do, but we were both tired and cranky and it just blew. Got home at like 5 PM and pretty much crashed. What a waste of a weekend.
Thankfully no plans for this coming weekend! I plan to sleep and make H plan something fun to make up for last weekend.
We have a field stone basement which is stone and mortar. With age and time (our home was built in 1870), the mortar breaks down which can create "holes" in between the stonework. Repointing is replacing that mortar with a concrete mixture to fill in those gaps and strengthen the stonework. Based on the first estimate we received, a few walls also need to be rebuilt as they are starting to bulge out. Repointing amongst other things will provide insulation back into the basement and prevent moisture from getting in (we found a mushroom growing in one of the corners).
