I'm about a month pp and out of the 35-40ish pounds I gained, I still have 20 more to lose. I've started tracking my weight weekly so I can see how it's going, hoping to lose a pound a week- nothing insane. This is what I did with Ollie and it worked just fine.
I've been at the 20lb mark since 1 week pp. I just started doing some Pilates-type ab stuff and light weights in the mornings this week and just went for my first run yesterday- stepped on the scale this morning and I've GAINED two pounds! Wtf?!
I know I'm not over eating- in fact, I'm nervous I might not be eating enough with the breastfeeding and exercise. Running after a 3 year old with a newborn makes it hard to snack as much as I should. I know that might make it take longer to lose the weight, but it wouldn't make me gain! Right?

well, I'm 2 1/2 years out and my pants still don't fit. It is like my body was all 'fuck you pre-pg weight, I'm not going there'. and no matter what I do, I'm stuck here.
This is not helpful. But meant to commiserate with you.

First if all, I've seen your ig pics, and you look amazing.
But Lucy is right, Pilates and light weights aren't going to encourage weight loss. The most effective method of exercise both post baby and everyday life (for me) has been combing weights and cardio with total body exercises. Don't just do bicep curls, add a squat or lunge. Light weights don't give much bang for your buck. Go heavier than you'd think.

This is my goal eventually. Last time I started the 30 Day Shred right around 6 weeks pp, then after that I did the No More Trouble Zones DVD- both combined with running. I just thought that with a little exercise and bf'ing non stop that it would start coming off a bit quicker. Womp womp.
A month pp? Your biggest problem is impatience. I know you don't want to hear it, but you need to give yourself more time.
Well now you just sound like my H. Lol.
I'm like you, I want that weight gone ASAP after delivery, so I get the frustration.
Pregnancy is hard, and by the end I just want to feel like myself again. Which is hard to do when you have a parting gift of extra lbs. Prepare for a vent similar to yours in about 6 weeks!
I hope this doesn't make you want to punch me. This isn't your first pregnancy and you aren't the age you were when you had Ollie. Your body will behave differently, so comparing probably isn't helpful.
Her first pregnancy wasn't ten years ago, and I'm pretty sure meganew is in her twenties. It's not unreasonable for her to expect her body to bounce back like it did with her first.

I am! I'm 28! Lol. If my body starts taking a shit on me already I'm going to freak out.

Lol. At least I didn't call you an old hag like @astrid ;-)
Seriously though, I know its uncomfortable to be carrying around extra weight. But don't be too hard on yourself. If it doesn't come off right away, it doesn't necessarily mean you are doing something wrong. Sometimes it takes time.
I killed myself to get it all off as quickly as possible and I really regret making the first months of Andy's life harder than they could have been. So, just don't beat yourself up. Buy new pants.

I was a smug bitch who only gained 20 pounds with my second. It was all gone when I left the hospital. Then I gained 30 pounds when DD weaned.

I read this as "buy new parts" and I was like, "Sheesh, missus, it's only been a month! Let her have some time before suggesting plastic surgery."
Then I reread. Lol.
Lol. After I'm finished with kids, I plan on buying 2 new parts
Has it really only been a month? Just stop it right now! It is harder to go right back to normal with number 2, but I am sure you will. But not at four weeks! your hormones are still all over the place, a lot of things need to settle down before you worry about this. And step away from the scale for a bit.

Even with losing weight it has fluxuated 5 lbs between days. Totally normal depending on what I eat, what my hormones are like, how much I drink, etc. Weight loss is NOT linear.
