Coach said I needed to quit stretching my hip flexors (I was making it worse) and start doing glute activation stuff during my warmup. It's been slowly helping. If it's not really better next week though, I have to lay off the squats for a few weeks
Wait...you need to work on glute stuff, but no squats? How is squatting hurting your hip?
I acknowledge I probably missed the backstory here.
Coach says I'm trying to squat with my hip flexors instead of my glutes. I need to do glute activation work to "wake up my ass" lol. He wants me to not squat for awhile because he thinks my hips are probably pretty inflamed and need the rest.

Have you ever done box squats? Or squats with a band around your knees? I had an FAI I had to work through a couple years ago, and thanks to a desk job my hips get stupid at times. I have some good hip stretching stuff too that helped me a ton if you are interested.

I have done box squats. I am doing bridges banded so that's helping a little bit.
Coach (and chiro agreed) that I should lay off the stretching - that I'm making the inflammation worse.
