I'm currently trying desperately to meet a deadline and fighting with a analysis software that is DRIVING ME INSANE. It's so bad that it's giving me general anti-german feelings. (german software) Somebody tell me that the german people are not ALL overly detailed people with no concept of how to create a useable user interface so I can stop having unpleasant feelings about an entire country.

I just talked to the snatchiest person EVAR from the Dept of Education. If you can't be nice before 9 am, ma'am, maybe you ought to stay off the phone.
Germans have beer. And good pretzels. That's always nice to remember.
Today I figured out that not only can I forget to turn on my alarm and wake up 40min late to DH's alarm and get out of the house on time, we can also prep the house for a realtor showing in that craziness too. We have the realtor caravan today, and a showing tomorrow, so it's nice that we have a reason to keep the house ultra clean for a few consecutive days. I may not need coffee for a while after that adrenaline rush though.
Just kidding, I need coffee.
Also, I'm pretty sure I did my Target run this morning with my zipper down. Definitely need coffee.

My husband will gladly fly into a rage and tell you everything that is wrong with every piece of software out there. He thinks developers on the whole are idiots who do not take practical use or plain old logic into consideration when creating their unnecessarily complicated monsters. He frequently hacks stuff or just creates his own to make it more user-friendly.

I don't get how people have kids. I'm barely able to take care of myself. I need to make an eye appointment and gyno appointment for myself as well as well-cat vet appointments for the fur babies and I'm just too lazy to find all those doctors. (Also, reading vet reviews on Yelp is depressing).

Online reviews of doctors are immediately suspect to me because you are only reading half the story. I really feel for doctors who have to tolerate negative reviews without being able to respond. Obviously some negative reviews are deserved, but people who are dissatisfied are more likely to go out of their way to complain, while people who are satisfied think they got the service that was expected and therefore tend to remain quiet.

Oh, I always take reviews with a grain of salt, which is why I read the full reviews instead of just looking at the ratings.
I don't even care for my own doctors, though. Just in-network, close, and weekend and/or evening hours.
I care about a quality vet, though. But even positive reviews for vets are depressing because they talk about how wonderful Dr. So-and-so was when their precious Roofus, who had been in the family and grown up with the kids, had to be put down. And how the family was so distraught but Dr. So-and-so exhibited such compassion that they know Roofus went in peace. ?

We should hang out. Also I just found out that for reasons not my fault my deadline has been pushed back. I really wish my client would have told me that BEFORE I stayed up till 2 AM trying to get this done. But whatever, gives me time to make sure I'm giving him a quality product so I can stop feeling all anxious. Also I can GBCN.
This program is still ridiculous and makes me have uncharitable feelings about the german people. It's amazing what it can do...I can model ANYTHING (uhhh...anything traffic related). But it's a beast to deal with. Just so many many many layers of inputs and none of them talk to each other, so one little change requires like 5 different windows and 2,000 mouse clicks. the other main program I deal with is not nearly as flexible, but the workflow is like 1000000000000000000x smoother and literally about five times as fast.

We are dealing with this issue right now with DH on healthgrades. He's presently got like a one star rating. Based on 21 identical reviews all without any comments. Just star clicks. DH thinks it was a single patient that he wouldn't clear to play football after a concussion. The clinic is trying to.figure out if they want to do anything about it. His patient load suggests people like him and don't give a shit about healthgrades. But I think something like that shouldn't be just "out there" unchallenged.
This is why I like Yelp. The business owner can respond to reviews. Reviews from first-time reviewers aren't posted, and multiple reviews by the same person are threaded together (and I think one person is only counted once).

My laptop is acting all cranky and dead. Like, I can't get it to boot with a Windows disc, dead.
... And I want to be working on graphics and art for my Little Free Library, and I can't, because my computer is dead, so I'm trying to do it on my phone, and that's just annoying.

I am basically procrastinating the same, only it is an eye appt for me and DD. and her allergist appt. I should probably schedule her well visit too. I think the dogs are good until February. So yea. just more of the same when you have kids. hahaha.

I'm pretty sure SAP is German. And it's terrible.
it is indeed. I really think germans just don't see the point of streamlining processes and user experience as long as the mechanics work well. It's not a priority like it is with American software companies. Certainly seems to be the case with their cars too judging entirely by Top Gear. They must to some extent. SAP bought Success Factors who makes the learning management system I administer (globally, I'm told, though I don't see it). They are abandoning the SAP learning system and dumping their resources into the acquired one. Because it's freaking usable. There's a ton of things that I will bitch about all day long about this LMS starting with the join tables that join join tables and randomly turning off audit trails. But, my god, at least I can go in, complete training and then report out on it easily.

I've never had to work with it, but DH has and he says it's awful. My sister just finished up with it and it getting ready to implement it and says it's awful as well.
I wore lipstick for the first time ever this weekend and I liked it! I want to wear it more often but I don't know how to pick a more subtle every day color. The one I have is red, lol.
My one question is, how did the officer handcuff him and put him in his police car and not notice he had a gun?
I don't live downtown anymore so I hadn't heard about it. It's not something anyone in the town where I go to church would really talk about and where I am now, they like to pretend Savannah is a world away.
The local news site I just checked is saying that SCMPD is going to release the arrest video. They've already released the officer's record. He's had three complaints in ten years. A woman said he was rude at a traffic stop, one excessive force complaint, and something about pulling a gun on a man who refused to turn over his weapon. Other than that, he's apparently caused three traffic accidents (I can't tell if it was in a police cruiser or on his own time.)
GBI says there is video of the patdown and arrest but they aren't releasing it until they've shown it to Smith's family and the city manager. I know nothing about this city manager. The last one was a hot fucking mess. Our police chief is also a hot fucking mess.
But Savannah as a whole, when it comes to crime, politics, and city management is a hot fucking mess. This place is racist as hell. We have a lot of black folks at the top, the police chief, the mayor, I think the city manager too but the vast majority of people in leadership are ineffective and there is some seriously ingrained racism about people of color and who "causes" the problems with crime and such.
So I have no idea how this will go. I'll keep an eye on it though and let you know what else I find out.

Are there any redeeming qualities about it?
There must be because EVERYONE seems to use it. IDK what they are, but they must be there.

And I'm scared of the makeup threads.
Are you afraid we're going to hold you down and color on your face?
