I like the neck tie blouse, but try to avoid wearing black blouses because it isn't flattering to my face (makes me look dead) and I'm really unsure of how the other options would look on me. Both the green and pink look a little off somehow.
The drape wrap coat is probably the best piece. But I'm not overly wowed by the whole collection.
I love how Olivia dresses, but I don't see anything I really want other than the elbow sleeve sweater. I think the other best pieces are the drape wrap coat, the plaid cape and maybe the tulip sheath dress, but I think I need to see those in person. I think Banana Republic probably could have handled the execution better--they did a great job with their Mad Men collection a few years ago.
I'm with @songforyou. The pieces are great, but:
a) I wouldn't be able to pull them off in real life. My imaginary, perfect self would rock the shit out of those outfits though.
b) Even if I could wear them, I'd get looks from people wondering who I thought I was. I work in a weird place - it ranges from seeing people wear wolf tshirts to suits. The majority tend to skew casual and I'd just stick out like a sore thumb.
c) I so wanted to buy some of the Mad Men collection, but I never did. (See "a".)
I think those colors would be really challenging for most people to wear and are more challenging with the fact that we are in fall heading towards winter.
I love, love, love the coats and wish I could buy them all right now. The blouses are just meh to me, except the one cowl-neck one, but I don't know how I feel about $60 for a top from the Limited. I will probably end up buying it, though. As of this morning, they only had 7 of the cape/coat left in my size, and I really want to pull the trigger despite the $228 price tag. I love capes/wraps/anything that isn't actually a coat.
