For a few hours each week, I am standing on our wood floor in the kitchen for weekly/dinner prep and it hurts my feet and back.
I was wondering if anyone has somewhat comfy shoes (not athletic) shoes they wear for light cushioning/support.
I don't hate Minnetonkas (there are yellow and orange suede versions I like), but I am constantly dropping things in the kitchen, so I'm sure the fabric would be ruined eventually.
No Toms recs, please. Also not interested in those padded kitchen mats.
I wear a pair of cushy flip flops during warm weather and Ugg slippers (after I got tired of buying a new pair of Minnetonkas every year) when it's cold.
I have sort of the same problem from just being up and down so much with the baby (and wearing flip flops too often for errands). I'm considering getting Fit Flops. The toning claims are ridic, but they have good arch support and are easy to slip on/off.
The gel mats really are awesome though. Dinner prep is the one time my feet don't hurt. I wish I could make house shoes out of those mats.

I have a pair of hideaous pink Crocs that I wear around the house. I have plantar fasciitis and they are the only shoes that don't hurt my feet when walking on wooden floors. You won't see me wearing them outside the house though.
