I got it and used it yesterday. You guys- this is gross. I know my regular vacuum picks up the same amount of stuff, I just don't see it since I use a bag. I have to say, I was seriously impressed. I didn't vacuum for 2 weeks so I could really put it to the test. Look at how much stuff it got! I meant to vacuum with my regular vac after just to see if I could hear it picking up anything else, but didn't feel like vacuuming. I never feel like vacuuming though, so this is nothing new. Which is precisely why I'm glad I splurged and got myself one of these. I'm going to run it again tonight to see if it gets anything. It looks like I have a third cat! It takes up nearly the WHOLE paper towel!
OMG I just thought of something! Now that I have some better cat hair control, maybe now I CAN get a third cat!!!! LOL
Who was the other girl that was also a bzzagent and was considering getting the Roomba? DOOOO IT!!!! LOL

What kind of flooring do you have and does it work okay going over rugs?
I'm just curious, as we have quite a few rugs around our house on top of our hardwood floors (mostly in the high-traffic zones) and was wondering if it would work on all the surfaces.

The unit I got is $599 and I had 35% off. With tax it cost me $417. Expensive, yes. But to me, like I said, it's priceless. I have carpeted living/dining room and hardwood throughout the rest of house. It easily transitioned between the 2 as well as over all the throw rugs. Including the bath mat, which sits on tile. When I vacuum my throw rugs I have to hold one part down with my foot. Not with this though. It didn't suck up and eat the loose ends.
It also went over some cords and knows not to "eat" them.
